Matt,
This is a love/hate thread for me. I hate to see a LTx car leave the arena, but I have to say I'm also jealous of your new setup The engine bay looks real nice! I can't wait to see the final product.

Yea I know what your saying.. Atleast I didn't ditch everything and go ls1 I am still keeping the lt1 body style...

Hoepfuly this motor doesn't give me any probs..
Thanks I am trying to make the car as clean as possible since I go to more cruise ins than drag strips these days...

I decided to ditch power steering.. Anyone know a cheaper way to put a manual rack on?

Ok well I have been really busy with school and family the past few weeks and I have also been waiting on the cam to come in..

Custom EPS cam arrived this past Monday... So I stuck it in and slapped the degree wheel on and checked it out and everything looks good...
PTV is .091 Intake and .109 Exhaust so it is fairly close... However it is a pretty healthy cam

Anyways I got the cam in, melling oil pump bolted on and the front cover and oil pan on... I mocked up the rest of the motor to make sure everything else was good...

I need to install my dual springs still..
* ANYONE HAVE A VALVE SPRING MICROMETER I COULD BORROW-BUY OR RENT FOR A WEEKEND*?? I Hate to spend $60 on one as I rarely ever use them...

here are some mocked up pics

Thanks! I am waiting for my convereter to get back...I had to get it restalled.. Since this motor should make around 600 to the crank on motor the old one was way too loose...plus I am going to put a 150-200 shot on it

Thanks! My budget is all shot to hell..lol this was suppose to be a budget build but we all know how that goes...

I am still trying to decide if I am going to swing the motor in from the top or if I am going to drop the k member and roll it back in..

It is still in the 100% planning process. I'm about 95% done with planning. Then the fun starts. Plans are to start out as a budget turbo build but I know it won't stay that way. Pretty penny in the end.

Also just bought a nitrous kit to hold me over on the LT1 power for a bit while getting everything else situated

Hey merv! Thanks for your help! and thanks for the compliment!

No the coils are just stock coils that I degreased, scuffed up cleaned and put adhesion promoter and red Krylon fusion...

Think they turned out pretty good!!

I have heard nothing but bad things about the MSD blasters...

No prob man, it looks good.
Ah, that's what I was going to say..they are crap on the LS Engine.
They look really good. In the future if you want to upgrade them look into the round Truck Coils with the heat fins on them.

Very nice But it won't make the power, it doesn't have an optispark

That's going to be a great motor

Oh ok I think I have heard that the truck coils with the heat sinks are suppose to provide spark?

Mine are red now though so they should be worth at least 5hp extra right? lol

I actually have a few harness questions for you...I will shoot you a PM!

I figured I would tape an optispark to the motor somewhere just to be safe...lol

Thanks!! I sure hope so! After all the troubles I have had with my old setup I pray that this one turns out good!

absolutely gorgeous engine.

Question why did you go with the custom harness if the LS harness you posted only cost 200$??

Will you be losing ABS and airbags?? which is what ppl keep telling me an LT1 car loses if we try to swap to an LS engine.

Personally I think it doesnt get any better than LT1 bodies with an LS engine!!
great work.

The truck coils have been Dyno proven to produce more power, I believe they are more volts.
Then again they werent tested against painted coils..

Ya hit me up if need some help..
