Proffessional Products throttle bodies- who's got 'em? I'm considering ordering a PP 52mm throttle body but I just wanted to hear some opinion on them, make sure people are satisfied with them.
If you look at pics of BBK, Holley, or Edelbrock tb's, the inlet runners look a lot smoother for better airflow than the PP tb that seems kind of "flat."
What's making things a bit confusing is that I've seen pictures of polished PP tb's that look curved and smooth like the other three companies, while all the pics of the satin finished PP tb's have that flat look to them.
Anyone have the satin finished PP tb? Is it smooth looking like the satin Edelbrock (or Holley and BBK) throttle bodies?
I know the difference between flat 52mm runners and curved, flowing 52mm runners is only a couple horsepower but I just wanna make sure I get the most out of a throttle body.

. Any 52mm TB is already more then enough flow for a stock computer limited 350 engine.I ran a PP TB for a while, and only switched to a different brand for the bling factor (AS&M is a work of art!).
If you do get one, I just suggest removing the bracket to rotate the spring one extra turn for a stronger return - some people complain of sticking, and even though mine never did I still rotated the spring once more just for piece of mind.

Got a satin 58mm here... looks half decent... only complaint here is i had to clearance it for the bolts to actually go all the way down and mount flush against the tb. Maybe i just got a shitty one of the batch but was a rather **** off and should have been a direct bolt on and go.

the stock ones have a flange, i used them and just ground down the flange on the bottom 2 bolts on the bench grinder, works perfect. i have a polished 58mm. love it(when the motor was running) and price is good

Suumit TB is the PP TB I think. I have the Summit TB and the diverter wall was very rough but I smoothed it out with a porting tool. Nice and smooth profile now.
Also from time to time the butterfly shaft will start gumming up a little and it will start to stick. I then remove it, disassemble it and cleant it and its good for a few more years. TB blade needs the usual adjustment and the drill mod is required for good IAC counts.
Other than all that, it works fine.

Oh well, I'm probably worried about nothing. The satin one probably flows exactly the same as the polished.
Again, thank you guys. Within the next couple weeks whatever tb I buy is going in, along with some ProMag 1.6 NSA rr's and Patriot valve springs. Hoping for 300 at the wheels-- and if I get really ambitious this summer or next spring I'll throw in a nice AI cam and LS7 lifters.

A nice fully machined and slim divider is pretty to look at and may flow slightly better overall on a bench, but its not something I would worry about. You wanna see a sick looking divider? Check out the billet AS&M TBs
.If it really bothers you then you can spend a few minutes with a dremel and take care of it
