Default Beating the 05' mustang

How badly have u guys beat the 05'-09'(or whatever yr they stopped producing these models)? Just curious cause I ran into one with the shelby body kit last night and i was on the freeway doing 70 in 3rd when we took off, he took the jump cause my horn wasn't working but i slowly crept up in 4th(about half a car ahead of him) and missed 5th(due to my damn b&m T-bar handle loosening up while shifting hard) clearly i was winning but i just hope he didn't get his hopes up and thoguht he won cause of my shifting. But yeah I beat him with the mods i have in my sig & no tune, plus i have a small misfire going on so i'm pretty happy...and btw i don't ever usually race on the streets but this guy looked pretty cocky with the way he was driving his car

Those 4.6s are turds. From a dig you should smoke em if you hook.

An LT1 with bolt-on should not have a problem walking a stock or bolt-on mustang like that

My last car 95 m6 t/a had a k/n, hurst short throw, and a borla catback. I dogged one at the track with I,h,e and tune. With horrible traction problems. I dogged my friends srt4 from a 20 that dogged on an 06 gt with an exhaust. MORAL OF THE STORY there slow. No 5.0 no care...

Those things are slow, but don't screw with the 2011s.

Hell a stock LT1 should outrun a 05 model. besides at 80 mph mustangs seem to disappear in the mirror. lol

The 2011s are pretty quick stock, but a cammed LT1 can keep up with them.

my buddies '08 gt put these numbers down on a mustang awd dyno

untuned w/intake and no mufflers:
239whp
259ft/lbs

long tubes, off road x-pipe, no mufflers, k&n intake, tuned
276whp
295ft/lbs

his best time was like a 13.8 when he was at 276whp. then he crashed it into a tree and is now a proud owner of an LS1 Trans Am that runs 13.4's.. hahah

Did you bother to use the threadlocker B&M supplies? Sounds like you haven't, as it would be damn near impossible for it to come loose.

Your location to me is hilarious also as that is where I destroyed my first 05+ Mustangs, on one occasion with three other people in the car. They are slow, all I had at the time were bolt-ons. Shorty headers, JET stage 2 chip and Granatelli MAF, looking back you can see my self sabotage and the poor Mustangs still stood no chance.

Nice SR&K story
I beat my friends 05 m5 GT (catback, cai, hand tune) when I was bone stock. Highway rolls aren't even fair for mustangs, especially at 80+ like mentioned above ^

lol true, but it's also hard to determine how far u need to go in a streetrace, in a 1/4 we usually top out in 4th so in my book i won.. i was ahead of him by half a car and still going......it was clear that i was pullin even when the mustang got the jump on me, i just wanted to throw it into 5th to get that extra car length lol...but yeah win/lose it's whatever i just know that I was pullin on him

I had a 96ish GT run up on me on the highway, I had my 396 then. It wasn't fair I think I pulled him in 4th.

Even some of the strong running new edge sn95's don't have a chance when above 80. Its funny to watch these mustangs give a good fight for 1- maybe 2 gears then they are done. lol
