Default LT1 block strength

So im still planning my $10k and planning atleast 500 crank hp, but in the near future I eventually want to build a T88 Twin Turbo LTx . Hoping for 1200rwhp + 200 shot. How much power can the cast iron block take? I can easily go with an LSX but im the type of guy that likes taking risks and do something different. Now this will be a life investment and it needs the supporting mods (rear end, tranny)

Life investment? Mod within ur means. No matter how fast you go someone will be faster. Speed is relative.

Ask Sikora, he is one if the few pushing the limits of the stock block.

Stefen also. With block fill I doubt many people can afford to build a motor that would break a block that is built righ.

at that level its life span will be determined by the tune up. a good safe tune and it will last. an aggressive tune not so much.

Yes life investment. Im starting to fall in love with LT1's and its on my Job list to do whatever it takes to Build a 1400+hp LT1. My plan was to make my 500hp first build then slapping Twins, Tuning, Tranny, 9 inch. So in other words im the guy that says growing up "im going to drive a lamborghini when I grow up. I want an LT1 that will eat UnderGround's Racing twin turbo Gallardos.

Play with the car for now without concern for "later".

By the time you got to that level you would be starting from scratch on a motor anyway and at that level a block every other year or something could be considered maintenance.

If you build an LT1 that outruns a UGR Lambo I promise I will show up at your doorstep with a carriage pulled by unicorns and come personally kiss your ***...

If someone comes out with an aftermarket block that will happen. 1400 ain't happening on our blocks...at least more then once or twice at a time .

While their block didn't actually crack, I vaguely remember someone complaining about spitting bearings and shifting the block every few runs with around 1200hp.

93Euphoria, I'm curious: What other high performance/high power cars/engines/drivetrains have you built?

It's an SBC. Give me an aftermarket block and a fat enough wallet and I will do it. ****, it can be done without a turbo too...

Bet it'd be cheaper then their lambo+mods too .

just build a sbc with an iron eagle block, you'll be WAY ahead.

Lol i know im sounding like some kid fantasizing but its not about knowledge its about Heart! And I would love to show Car enthusiast that LT1/4's do exist for a reason. I remember seeing a 1006hp red twin turbo LT1. I think A.I did it. Does Dart make custom blocks?

Its more about the cash.

But either way, Dart did produce lt1 blocks a while back. I cant remember how much power they were made to handle though. A stock lt1 block wont handle that much power even though it can always be modified.

Is there any reason why you want to use a ltx for your goal other than cus you like it? I wouldnt worry about the HP goal as much as the 1/4 mile times if i were you. How fast is the turbo lambo?

Unfortunately nobody does for us, but the lack of cubes is a much bigger loss then the block strength for 99% of us.

At that power goal, I would go aftermarket SBC block or just make things easier on yourself and go BBC. NA w/ spray or a turbo will get you your 1200hp with either of them.

He doesn't want it to be easy. He said he's the kind of guy that likes to take risks and try something different.
