Default Very unhappy with Taylor wires.

I did a LT header install on my z28 a few weeks ago. I also installed new tr55s and Taylor side mount kit with the manifolds off. I had a few very frustrating issues building the 8mm wires but it takes practice. Now i can build them with quality and in short time. When everything was finished the headers and the side mount kit look very nice and clean.

But these ******* wires perform like dog ****.....

I didnt have the money for new o2 sensors when i finished. I drove around with one o2 sensor on the drivers side header. The car ran horribly as suspected. Got brand new o2 sensors still ran horribly. hmmm.... i wonder if its the wires??

Last night i checked for any arcing wires. I let my car warm up and i popped my and i saw a fireworks display of arcing wires!!! Every ******* wire was arcing to any metal object!! The arcs were coming from the inside of the super efficient silicone wires.... The wires were arcing to the other wires too. I have never seen so many arcing wires in my life.

So my roommate has the OTVC Taylor kit also. He has a bolt on 306 lt1 that has been running a little rough but as bad as mine. We pop his hood we see the same damn thing. Arcs hit everywhere. We were very surprised and disappointed with our wire investments. 100 dollars down the drain. He was going to spray a 100 shot a few weeks ago too. That motor would have blown the **** up due to the wires.

Ill try to get a video of the 4th July under my hood for yall.

So the moral of the story, dont waste your time with these wires. Im buying some AC Delcos today.

Thats what I have on right now...the MSD Super Conductors...they are really nice but seem to burn up a lot because of my headers. Be careful if you have headers. You might want to look at getting some header wrap if so or sleeves for the wires.

Taylor wires are absolutely the worst wires you can buy. I have been there and done that with them. Also seen many friends try them and also have bad luck.

I like the Accell Extreme 9000's or the MSD wires. Have had good luck with both.

I bought my car with the Taylors on it. I just got done completely going through the car fixing everything the previous owner cut corners with I got the universal msds with the taylor connectors and tr55s and They did make a night and day difference . I dont think the car even ran that good when I bought it back in march!

If the man himself says to run 9000's or msd wires then we should all take his advice. Btw me and my roommate just hung a poster of your 93 in our living room LOL.

You will need the Msd universal set and Taylor Opti connectors. ( or at least thats what I did ) As well as heat boots and msd makes t clips and you can route them in many directions

Thats why i've never bought the taylors, never liked the construction of the boots, after reading this thread, i will never ever consider them for sure, I have ALWAYS had very good luck with the Accels high temp spiral core 8mm (not the cheapo 7mm 20.00 ones), YES i said Accel, i swear by those wires & always will.
