Sorry it took so long as I forgot about this.

As far as what good the pics do, NOTHING. You cant see the placement of the shifter because of the #6 boot and Im not taking that off. However, basically the shifter sits on the transmission right about the transmission. Its not like the Cobra T56 that uses extra levers and so on.

My take so far is that its AMAZINGLY better than the stock shifter. They are crisp and precise and you really know what gear you are in. Im gonna take it out for a drive later on tonight to give it a good work through.

Went in really easy. Hardest part was getting the console back on because I have an Ipod interface in the car and it was getting in the way.

EDIT:

Well just got back from taking the car out and its seriously night and day from the stock Hurst shifter. There is a tiny bit more effort to get the car into the gears but its more of a precise type of effort I guess. It makes the shifts more precise and there is no guessing as to what gear you are going into. A 1-4 run really made this shifter shine. You can just "throw" it into the next gear and itll go into it.

If you are on the fence about ordering this shifter, just get it. You WILL NOT be disappointed at all.

Youtube review for the people that want to watch it in action.

You have to get the Camaro/Firebird shifter stick. It has 16mm threads rather than the standard 12mm they offer.

It happens when said shifter fixes the crappy part about another said shifter but still has the best part of it.

Hey guys i know im pretty new but i have experience with both the shifters... bear with me... I have an 04 mach 1 with the MGW and love every second driving the car... Once i heard about MGW thats what i wanted on the Mach.. after getting it i was bummed because at the time all they made were shifters for mustangs and vipers...

I have the Pro 5.0 in my 94.. i love it but it just doesnt feel as solid and crisp as the MGW.. i know its too different shifters and two diff trans.. but Im about to put my order in for one of the MGW in the morning..

Also i will like to add that the Mach's shifter is fully adjustable to your comfort... i dont know if the camaro's shifter is the same way though.. i will look into it asap..

Two Questions-

Can I use my SLP shift **** on this shifter? It's the exact same **** as the oem hurst one, except it has SLP written on it.

Does this shifter require some rubber gaskets to quiet it down? I know my PRO 5.0 is pretty loud so I put the shifter gaskets from cobra bob and it made a bit of a difference.

Thanks.

Nothing else is needed. I used the factory Hurst **** and still am so I dont see why you cant.

You just have to cut the factory boot a TINY bit to get it to fit over the MGW shifter gold part but that is it.

Alright thanks. Did you find the shifter noisy, transmitting a good ammount of noise from the tranny? I know my 5.0 does.

The only thing I am not liking about it is that it doesn't have and stops. I currently have a pro 5.0 with shimmed tension springs. Hows does the side tension of the MGW compare to that of the Pro 5.0? I would order one right now but the fact that is doesn't offer shift stops is kind of holding me back.......

The 5.0 has side springs?? MGW side tension is amazing. Watch my video on youtube to actually see it.

No other T56 transmission use external stops as well. Even with shifter stops people have torn up the T56. Its just going to happen once you start making higher HP. However, I will say that once you get used to the MGW you will not be worrying about misshifting your car. Ever.

I've got a pro 5.0 that I put maybe 5K miles on and the pos when placed in between the first and second will not center its self. But when its in all the way towards the passenger side, no problems.

My only concern about getting a 5.0 is the fact that I have already removed my center console twice. Once to install the shifter and second time to put gaskets in the thing. I just dont want it all to be loose and shitty fitting.

Ive had my MGW in for about 8k miles. Nothing rattles, is loose or ill fitting. You will not be let down if you spend the money on the MGW.

Only thing that is different is that it is not as "hard" to get into gear now. Its basically broken in. Love it though.

No Im positive the shifter itself wont be loose or anything like that. The only thing I can think of is that it may need some rubber gaskets to quiet it down.

When I was talking about loose and what not I was just talking about my center console since I already removed it twice and with the mgw this would be three times, Im just concerned about that not fitting 110% again.

Ohhhh gotcha. Nah, it wont. I did it 4 times the first time I installed the shifter. I didnt put enough RTV on the first time, forgot to plug in my ipod interface the second time, left a socket in the 3rd time and the final time I dropped a bolt through the ash tray and it fell all the way down to where I couldnt reach it.

You wont need rubber gaskets, just use enough RTV. Basically use the whole tube that comes with it.

That's pretty surprising that it's this quiet without the use of any shifter/shifter handle gaskets. I knew that as soon as I drove the car for the first time with the PRO that they had to be ordered!

Had mine in now for 2 months...'BRILLIANT' have dragged with it & have circuit racing on Jan 10 so i know things will be sweet as now. Very good bit of gear & EXCELLENT package with everything needed to install, great to see a firm supply nessecary items and not just the core product.
WELL DONE MGW
