Does the MGW "click" into gear or is it a smooth transition? I loved my pro 5.0 because it was so solid and accurate, but it was also notchy feeling. Basically it could have provided the sound effects for the shifting action in fast and the furious. Not really a bad thing, but smoother would have been preferable.
I believe that is only on Mustangs because of how the shifter engages with the transmission. On our cars its a set amount unless someone comes up with how to do it or it might be adjustable under the boot but I didnt pull mine up to mess with it.

It doesnt click but it is a little bit notchy feeling. Its a good feeling though as it lets you know when you are in gear for sure. Its not a bad thing at all on this shifter. Its VERY solid and VERY accurate. Its quiet as heck too. You cant even hear it while shifting in my car.

how does it compared to the pro 5.o in the noise department? im happy with my pro 5.o but i wished the throws were a bit shorter.. and it is really really loud. i can hear my gears rattling at idle and as i drive off.. hows the MGW?

Thanks for you input.. i think i might have to sell my pro 5.0 and get one of these MGWs. I cant really tell that in the pictures but does the stick sit a little towards the driver like the pro 5.o? i kinda liked that..

It really doesnt sit towards the driver but the position is MUCH MUCH better than the stock one.
Took a spirited drive this evening with the window down and if you have a non stock exhaust youll never hear this shifter. Even with the radio off and me going 35-40 in 4th and downshifting to 2nd or 3rd you cant tell its there. Its that amazing. It makes the car that much fun to drive.
Josh youll enjoy it. If you want to try out mine I should be up in KY (bowling green) sometime this week to visit the corvette museum with my buddy.

How does the shifter stick sit compared to the PRO 5.0? So you don't hear the gears rattle and all that crap, like the PRO 5.0? Is it just my pro5.0 that makes all that noise, or do all of them ?

I am one of the very few that will be switching from the pro 5.0 to this. I was going to go back to stock but a friend convinced me to try this one.
I didn't like the pro 5.0 because the return springs suck donkey dick. I had to rig it from the get go.

I was just doing some searching on shifters, trying to find more info on the slik stix and found this thread. I hadn't even heard of this shifter yet. Those of you that have one make it sound so damn nice that I'll definitely be getting one. I'm going home on leave in Feb so I'll order one and throw it in then. Let's just hope I get a few days with no snow on the roads so I can try it out.

Got a video up tonight. Sorry for the quality and lighting but I was the only one here so yea. I think its pretty self explanatory. When you hear the shifter when I move in closer, its not the shifter. Its the actual leather boot making the squeaking.
Enjoy.

Could I use a MGW short throw shifter from a Mustang that had a t-56? Not sure if there would be much difference between the two?.?. BTW nice vid Bballr4567 I commented on the vid as well.

The T56 on the mustang is different on the outside. They have levers that change the gears unlike ours where its right on the transmission. You can just look at the pictures and tell they wont work.
Thanks Bruce. I know its not the best quality but you can semi-see whats going on but whats better is you can hear it. I was idling with the radio off and you still could BARELY hear it.
