Im going to adjust it tomorrow to make the stick as short as it can go. I didnt realize it could go down that much farther but I have the stick as high as it can go. Should be interesting and Ill put up some more pics.
Thats what I thought too but after hearing all the praise that MGW gets for their Corvette, Mustang and Viper shifters I was willing to give this a shot. Im VERY happy with it.

Well the MGW seems like a nice shifter since its used in Veets & Vipers,so i dont think its a waste of time to try something as good as the 5.0 but for a better price.

Got an answer from George at MGW as to what the grey goop is on the bottom of the shifter in the first set of pictures but not on mine.
According to him, some of the shifters' mounting holes were a little too far offset, allowing the relief holes (the four small ones you can see in the picture I posted) to hang over the mounting flange on the transmission. He said that it could cause some transmission fluid seepage, and that they put regular RTV on that area to keep that from happening.
He said that if it was the case (you could tell by looking at how it is mounted), you don't even have to remove the shifter to fix it. You can just squirt some RTV up under there, let it set, and it would seal it no problem.

Again, the price is $200 plus shipping. Comes out to $210 total.
Reinstalled the #6 boot and its a TIGHT fight to get it under the console but it fits. Now my car is much quieter for sure. If you like to ride in a little bit of silence and dont like road noise keep it on the car. :lol
Meent, that makes total sense. I checked mine today and I had zero leakage. Can you adjust your stick up and down though? Mine has a lip machined into it so I cant move it any lower.

Its the stock boot in the car that goes over the shifter opening.
Stole a pic of it from MeentSS02 thread about his shifter as I dont have any.

Basically you install the shifter, then put the stock noise boot back over it. Makes it MUCH quieter! You can try to leave it off if you want but it was annoying for me especially if you get up into the upper RPMs as you can actually hear the transmission and output shaft really easy.

Just got done about 2 hours ago with the install on mine. This thing is the real deal. REALLY short throws but it could just be because I had the stocker on before. Took me about 3.5 hours but I took my time so I wouldn't **** it up. Anyone who is looking at purchasing this shifter, DO IT! You won't regret it.

Does the MGW "click" into gear or is it a smooth transition? I loved my pro 5.0 because it was so solid and accurate, but it was also notchy feeling. Basically it could have provided the sound effects for the shifting action in fast and the furious. Not really a bad thing, but smoother would have been preferable.

what if i already have a short stick? can it be used with this or must i only use the supplied stick? also what if the stick is cut down at all to really lower the shifter ****, will that work? from the looks of how the stick mounts to the shifter it looks like a clamp and bolt to tighten it down right?
