ummm, i liked the the way the pro shot through the gates fast, but that would only be a benefit when i was racing, but besides that i hated it, for daily driving i'd die.way too notchy and clunky, it never centered itself and i hated it. alot of other people like it or swear by it , but for me on my setup, the mgw is worlds better.

it goes through faster also, but i haven't gone out and driven it hard yet. but from the way that it feels so far, it's 100x's better than my pro. i too think its perfect!

I have the 5.0 now but this MGW seems like a great shifter. I may have to check it out.

I am missing the #6 boot. When i did the A4 to M6 swap the #6 boot is something i left out. Anyone know the part # or know how I can get my hands on one?

Just go to the dealership and ask for one. If you have a semi competent parts guy you should be good.

I had a hurst Billet plus and liked it alot and now A Pro 5.0 since everyone raved about it. The Hurst was much smoother and shifted good, the 5.0 is notchy and centered great at first but not so much anymore??? BTW my 5.0 is very quite. I can barely hear it.

Might have to check this one out soon.
I just want my 2-3 shifts to be worry free. Im already spinning my motor a bit higher than I should and dont want to miss a power shift.

Got my MGW in like last week or so, Car is in the shop right now getting a hoodpin fixed, so hopefully tonight or tomorrow I can give her a good beating! Still not used to the neutral being more to the right thing..but its a damn smooth shifter.

yeah its a smooth shifter, love the thing so much. i wonder why yours isn't dead center? mine is, coming out of gears to neutral it isnt all that fast, but at least its a natural motion. but man i love it.

idk lol, Its perfectly fine imo, Went out and beat on it to just 85mph, flawless 1-4, I think my perception of it being off center is due to the Right angle Orange piece that holds the stick to the left?

That sucks Dave!!! The thread usually gets bumped up to the top every other day or so.

Rice, I think that it is all in your mind. Mine is shifted over from center when compared to stock but this is just so much better I get used to it.

just ordered mine.... will be going from stock shifter with a WS6 store short stick to the MGW with reusing the stick...to me my stocker feels tight/solid as hell (maybe its the built tranny?) and the throws are short. lets see if theres a REAL diffeence when compared to just a short stick and stock shifter.....

If you think the stocker feels tight then you are going to be amazed when you get the MGW on.

No limit stops = broken transmission

I hope all of you guys aren't slamming gears too hard as the MGW does not have a limit stop.

^^^ well if bent/broken shift forks is the only problem i got a stage 5b tranny so i dont think i should have any problems...?

as for finally installing my MGW... WORLDS of a difference! i also reused my ws6 short stick which i also cut about 3/4 inch off of it and now the shifter height is perfect and the throws are super short.

I've been power shifting with my mgw for a while now and no problems at all. The guy I bought the car from said it had some tranny work done to it, like steel shift forks, but I don't know that for a fact. Either way, no problems here. I love the mgw.
