Default If you need to remove a pilot bearing...

...get this tool: Blind Hole Bearing Puller from Harbor Freight Tools. Part Number 95987. Its more or less a modified slide hammer. About 10 smacks and my old, destroyed, bearing was out for me to beat like the fax machine on office space. Cost me about $30 if I remember.

Autozone also rents a blind hole puller, put a deposit down and get it back when you return the tool. Agreed that it's the easiest way to remove a pilot bearing/bushing.

Spray some wrench it or pb blaster around the edges and let it soak overnight. It will slowly work it's way in around the edges. Make sure you use the right size puller on the slide hammer..........I have changed several and letting them soak really helps if they are stubborn.......

I posted a pic of the perfect pilot bearing removal tool over here, not sure where to get it though:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...al-issues.html

I had to use the hammer/chisel & dremel method.

if your pulling it then your not reusing it and a hammer and screwdriver will work fine. Most mech already have these

Take it back to HF. All their handtools are lifetime warrantied. Just take the whole thing back in and they'll hand you a new box.
