Default Monster Clutch/Transmission issues?

I recently put a Monster stage4 clutch in my 02 Z28, broke it in for 500mi, brought it to the track and I just cannot smash gears as I used too. I had rebuilt the T56 myself about a year ago and had a fresh ram powergrip HD in the car and it shifted like butter. The issue now is it basically just will not let me into gear when shifting at 6k, I had replaced the master/slave and flushed with dot4 synthetic with the same results. The only thing that makes me think it would be a transmission issue is when I’m downshifting into 2nd, I have to force it in. The only thing I could think that would of hurt the transmission was when my ram was on its way out.

this is the car after the rebuild and fresh RAM

Ideas? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Either that or it might need to be bled out.

Hard to get into gear like that....hydraulics. Bleed it again, bleed some more, and when you THINK it is right...go ahead and bleed some more.

Also, since you have stock MC...have you done drill mod? 6K RPM shifts and you have a heavier clutch pedal with your Monster over the Ram, not moving enough fluid fast enough to disnegage clutch at those RPM's.

It sounds like a hydraulic issue... give me a call at the shop on Tuesday and we'll go over it with you!

I reblead it today, again this is a brand new master and slave from GM, and yes I have performed the drill mod. The only thing that makes me feel its the transmission is downshifting into 2nd, at any RPM I have to smash it in...

If you sit idling in the driveway do you still have to smash it into 2nd?

Interested to find out your solution, good luck.

THAT is definitely a sign of JUST transmission...since hydraulics or clutch would do it in ALL gears more than likely.

How's the driveshaft length? We've seen a ton of people run too long of a shaft and under hard excelleration it bottoms the shaft into the tranny pushing the mainshaft forward causing it hard to shift.

Can't be an issue with DS length, as I had put 2 clutches through this setup with no issues besides well the clutches. The tranny is coming out tonight and I am going to crack the case and give it a once over. I will keep this thread updated.

I had a problem like that with my textralia clutch, my clutch wasn't disengaging properly (a lot of textralia people had that problem also.) What fixed it was a tick m/c since it allows more fluid to the slave. I would give that a try and see if it works for you, it worked for me and many textralia people!

I appreciate that Steve.
I finished rebuilding the transmission last night, found a broken slider on the 1-2 synchronizer assembly, replaced the whole synchronizer assembly, along with the 3-4 as it was pretty beat up. I was not able to make a WOT test since it was raining, but I was able to downshift properly.

I also inspected the Monster stage 4 clutch, looked fine with no abnormal wearing or bent finger on the pressure plate.

I will let you guys know if it in fact is fixed, which I would imagine it is.

Heres how to test if your clutch is disengaging all the way our not, Be at a complete stop, be on level ground, put the car in first and leave to clutch pedal to the floor and rev the car up alot.... the car should NOT try and move forward if it does your clutch is still grabbing either Needs bleed, or After market M/C (like the Tick Performance) or slave is leaken or Pressure plate is junk......in the OP situation i would check into getting the Tick M/C and Speed Bleeder from them.
I know we had a hard time bleeding my buddies system after putting new M/C and Slave in it, had to pull it out of tranny and do the gravity trick w it and put tranny back in, bleed 2 more time and got it.
