I love my B&M with an MBA ****. With the shorter **** it's about the same length as the pics I've seen of guys running "short sticks" on the 5.0 and stocker. I actually had to cut the stock shifter handle to get it out of the shift boot, the **** wouldn't screw off. Had it in a vice cranking on it and everything...

Anyways, much more positive feel to it. But that's probably as much from eliminating the rubber isolator as anything else.

Ive got a 99 SS and the shifter is leather with the SLP logo, car had no SLP options though. Did someone add this or did they come with the SS package in 99? It feels like a short throw. Deffinatly not like the regular 6 speed shifters. Seems even shorter then my buddies with a 00 WS6 with the hurst shifter.

Did SLP make a short throw and how can i tell if its teh short throw and what brand and not just a shift **** that was added onto something else.

I just have the short stick on the stock shifter with a Hurst pistol grip. I've never tried an aftermarket shifter. Do the aftermarket shifters make the throw any shorter? And by how much?

I have a Hurst...got it as a b-day present from the wife's family...I love it. Not too difficult of an install either. Smooth and crisp shifts...now I just need a pimp clutch to match it!

I have a B&M and love it, But B&M, Pro 5.0, and Hurst are all great companies. I think that it is a matter of opinion on which one you like the best. If you know some guys or some guys off the fourm were close you could test the different shiffters in their cars to see which one you like the best.

My Kirban works good for me. Not really noisy yet a very noticeable upgrade from the stock one.

Its not surprising that a lot of guys love the "shifter" they have but how many have tried some of the other ones?? My third shifter is the "hurst" billit and the adjustments are endless with the combo of springs availible! Im still tinkering but I think Im close but Im gonna tighten up the second springs anyway Ill see what happens!! OH, ya do use the loc tight and take time with the adjustments! And I went with the black anodised "pistol grip" Its real good for "feel" as I have the six speed in the C-5 and its just a bitch from first to second!

I have a pro 5.0 in mine..
I will be placing the stock one back in and do an actual comparison between the 2...
So far for the 200 bucks the pro 5.0 cost me does not seem worth it...

I had the stock shirter in my car. I was going to buy the pro 5.0 but my buddy was selling his SLP short throw because he bought a pro 5.0. I put the SLP shifter in and noticed a big difference in the feel. Alot shorter throws, not to notchy, and no noise. I felt my buddys pro 5.0 and it felt good. Better than the SLP. Really short throws and it felt good. But the SLP aint bad and a good improvement over the stock shifter.

I have the stock hurst with the 6" WS6 Store stick, and love it. Not much noise, just a solid click when put into gear. No rattles, and VERY solid feel with our built tranny.

alright... this is a bit of a newb question, but is the factory hurst shifter essentially the same thing as the hurst pro billet series shifter, or perhaps another of the after market hurst shifters?

what is the stock length on the factory hurst and non hurst (what i'm currently rolling with) sticks?

are shifters sold already equipted with a short stick? is the short stick even more effective or just a preference?

I just installed the Pro 5.0 last week with a UMI angle stick. No notchy feeling, no vibration, just a smooth *** shifter.

Werd, just a shifter, have had the B&M Ripper for awhile now, it doesn't miss gears, no noise, no complaints here.

I bought a Pro 5.0 to replace my factory Hurst shifter, installed it yesterday. Its definitely an improvement over the factory Hurst, its more precise, shorter throw, and less shift effort.

All in all I'm happy with it

I have used both B&m and pro 5.0 and pro is the way to go. It is noisy but in my opinoin shifts a lot smoother. I never missed 2-3 with my pro.
