Thumbs down Us 41

Is it just me or has us 41 gone to **** lately?

The last 2 times i have been there they dont open the gates till like 10-10:30, race at 11. i got one run in by 12:30 and then they descide to take a 30 minute break. when they came back they went to bracket racing.

i mean come on, $25 for not even 2 hours of test and tune!!!

i just looks like that lately they cant get their **** together. i also asked them why they open so late now, they told me cause its to cold to open earlier?

they really pissed me off today, what a waste!

i agree,
i was there today and it was disappointing,

slight drizzle ( if that, even ) and they brought out the street sweeper,
by the time they got bracket racing started, there would be time for 1-2 more runs,

not worth the drive for me,

i'll be visiting byron

I haven't been there since earlier in the year but have heard from others that they open late.

Used to be awesome. Track would open at 8 and you could start racing at 9. Prep was always good.

i definitly agree with letsndy. ever since they change owners the track has taken a **** and it is now VERY disorganize. all i gotta say is that they better get there **** right or else they'll be losing a lot of business.

The new manager is in way over his head. No clue on running real racecars. Very stuck up and rude to people that actually know what they are doing and talking about. The kids on street race night love the place, but obviously slow cars don't need traction or safety safari very often. Me and my friends never bother anymore, you can't get it down the track most of the time. What does the temp have to do with getting in and set up and getting tech done?? If they open the gates at 10-10.30 how in the hell do they expect us to be ready at 11?? Unload, set up work space, put car together, tech, warm up, refuel, tune for weather, get dressed, tow up. Oh never mind, my bad, 30 minutes is plenty of time. I guess they only want stock 15 second stuff.

I was there early in the year and the track was nice. I went to the MFBA rental a couple of weeks ago, and was not impressed at all. Track prep in the morning was ok, but after their 1 hour 20 minute lunch, they did nothing. I'm sure they raised the price of rentals too. Score boards, and win lights were not working.

I love taking a consistent 1.29-1.31 60ft car and running a 1.44 because there prep and maintence sucks. First thing in the morning was good but just went down hill from there.

Prep sucked at MIM after lunch. Then we got kicked out at 5 on the dot! I have heard that in the past you could stay and watch the night events. May not ever go again. Not even for the MIM. That was the only reason I went ever was for MIM because of the drive. Now maybe never again. Byron sucks too though. WAY too busy. Prep is good but they rush you through after sitting in the staging lanes for 2hrs. Now GLD is going NHRA. Not sure where the hell to go now. I guess we are left with the streets again. Anyone want to start a private track fund/club?

At past MIM's, gates opened at 9/10 and the event finished at 3/4pm FYI.

So the lights are broken? I thought Denny fixed all of that.

Then I have to give them credit for openning the gates at 8 this time. I drive my car so lots to do to get it ready. But the same on the reverse end. Here I am bolting on my exhaust when someone comes by saying they want everyone out by 5 and that "he" was getting pissed.

i agree guys. in the beginning the only track i went to was 41 but after a 4 year hiatus i recently returned to 41 for the mfba rental and i was appalled. That place has turned into a complete joke. Im sorry but when a car caught on fire at the end of the track the workers were completely clueless. some of the stuff i heard over the radio will ensure that im not goin back to us 41 to race anytime in the near future. gld may not be perfect but its def 100x better than the hellhole in indiana

byron has test and tunes in november,
no clubs or other "organizations" there for track rentals,

so would that make it any better in terms of being busy ?

oh well, mod your car the way you want it to run, sound, feel and then just be happy with that
