I'm always game for hanging out. I normally can find an excuse to take the car out during the summer. Nothing better cruising around with the top down and listening to exhaust note!!!

It all depends where you like and if you want to have the college crowd or older people.

On a side note, a few of us over at svtperformance are putting a get together May 16. Going to head out to Omaha and hang out with those guys. If anyone is interested, I'll chime in with what we are planning. So far it's going to be lunch, lots of cruising through town and the Loess Hill's...up in the air after that but sounding like a good time.

I might be down for that, I love going to Omaha. Pretty good car scene, great food, and bars. I went to the big Ice cream cruise they have every year this summer. Driving home on completely empty roads at 3a.m with a dozen nice street cars is fun. Although the races were kind of a bust(about 30 honda kids followed us out) it was nice to see every car under the sun packed into a home depot parking lot.

ice cream cruise this year was pointless hahah the only race i saw was a gts viper vs a 6.0 gto(viper won). haha i remebr when our group meet up at the hyvee parking lot i dont no if you where there black. but a good 6 or 7 minutes in rices showed not like a few but thousdands then at the first spot 300 of them just poped outta now where i mean i thought we had a pretty fast group you supercharged c6 prez's evo and a bunch of others how could the ricers keep up? oh well americruise will be the **** this year

Hey guys, just figured I'd introduce myself in here, this seems to be the "Iowa chat" thread.

My name is Chad, and I just moved down from Minnesota about 2 months ago. I'll be going to Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo for Auto Tech starting in January. Looking forward to seeing some of you guys around this summer, maybe earlier for some pool or something?

Yeah, my friend and I got cut off from the main group and ended up in the Omaha ghetto. We did have a nice group going, we'll have to find a different secret spot next year. I heard americruise is coming, going for sure in May. Kinda just went to chill and see some friends this summer and drove on some bald street tires, definitely going to get a pair of DR's next time. Hopefully there will be some good after parties at americruise.

They actually changed the name to Hot Rod Super Nationals. It will be in Lincoln May 29-30 from 2009-2011. Really nice cars, races, and drinking afterwards haha. It's one of the biggest and nicest car events in the country so if you can make it out you'll have a good time. I'll probably throw a tent in the back and make an event out of it with a few friends.

Yeah the car does have low miles. Third gear is pretty much non-existent though, ha. Somethings jacked with the hydraulics too which is what I'm guessing probably killed it in the first place. Oh well.

I also ordered myself a porter cable polisher, some 6.5 inch CCS pads, some poorboy's world buffing products, some tropicare stuff, quite a few micro fiber towels, a battery maintainer. I think thats about it. Cant wait to use it on the trans am! Should be this next weekend here!

Anyone doing any winter mods??? I have to get a better tune in my car, replace a valve seal, put new fluids in the trans and the rear, put new header gaskets on the car and try and get them to seal (that will be fun). And then try and talk the old lady into a new rear for the old girl.
