Why should I get fatter? I'd rather stay skinny and still make more power.

Default attention to those with t-56's

has anybody ever had an issue with the speedo jumping around while shifting gears at high rpm? I had an issue last weekend when running Blake, my speedo jumped to over 155 for a short while. I was able to catch it on video last night, but the video wasnt very clear. I got another one tonight and its alot more prevelant. What do you guys think? watch the speedo mainly around the 3-4 shift. BTW, its an electric pickup, no speedo cable. I cant remember if the speed sensor screws into the tailshaft, or if there is a tab that holds it in. My thought was that the sensor somehow backed out. But i am not sure.

Yeah yeah, i know its a ford question on a ls1 site. But a t-56 is a t-56.

My guess would be that the hall effect sensor (pickup) for the speedometer is either not quote sitting right (too far or too close to the reluctor) or something is off in the wiring.

If I can borrow some wheels I can make a run. I'm not quite ready on the spray though. I didn't get the bottle and fuel till today, and I had to clean up the garage as I'm doing an engine swap for a friend of a friend Saturday morning. No time to tune it.

I did do some scanning this week N/A though. I brought up the timing 3 degrees, I'd had it turned down for some testing previously, so I should have another horsey or two. We'll see.

I won't be in town next weekend, BTW; my Father-In-Law came back from Iraq today, and I'll be in St. Louis for a big welcome back party. Should have the car ready to go by then though, so if it's not winter yet by the following, I should be out in proper form.

edit: And thank you guys for the compliments on the car. I do appreciate it.

It's looking like it's only doing it on the 3-4 shift. Am I correct? That's when I remember it doing that jump the other night when I watched it. The first time you pulled and didn't notice it, I was like, "Wtf was that?!?"

I've never heard about this problem in any of the SVT/DOHC or T56 info I've read through...

Has it always done that?

Licence plates

Plates make borla sound like **** though. Put a small bullet muffler on it, it will sound alot better.

Luke, fwiw, the beast did the same thing, only it did it when ever, and sometime's wouldn't stop. I checked the connecter that went into the vss, it was tight and secure, so i pulled the connecter off and put petroleum jelly on the pins, and it never happened again

But thats on a Honda, idk what t56's use...

Ha, I was doing this also back in the spring. I made one of my own that was a bit shy of all the way open and it brought the sound down pretty good. Don't even really hear it in the car. I have the total block off plate if you want to use that to make your own. I tried the total block off one once, just to see what it sounded like, and it was awful lol.

I'll be at the LSx Shootout, but I have no idea where we are staying yet.

I'll also be in the Fort next weekend... I'll probably be out Friday night.
