Check out a company by the name of Quick Time. I think they are in Iowa. They have all kinds of bellhousings for what you want to do.

just out of curiosity, why the t-56 for a BBC? i'm not really that informed about mix-matchin transmissions w/ motors but isn't the t-56 geared for a small block hence the 6 speed? i just don't know if a t-56 is a great idea for a BBC.... just my $.02 but i'm sure i will be corrected

Ordered the 408 from LME. Callies/Callies/Wiseco (coated). Should have 11.75:1 with 66 cc combustion chambers. ARP rod bolts, main studs and head studs. Should be a couple weeks before it's here. Waiting to hear back from Brain @ LME for a cam recommendation. My shortblock and cam are for sale.

Good deal! The AFR heads will like the bigger bore of the 408. What CR will you be at with your heads? Did the heads need decked at all? Shuold be able to adjust CR with gaskets I imagine. Your cam has to be close to what you need, BUT better to get a brand new one anyways....

What are you asking for the short block? Do we know the damage yet? I imagine the pistons/rods/crank are fine...block should be ok as well...

Haven't really decided on a value for the shortblock. I looked up a new Lunati crank and it was $2k. Lunati connecting rods and pistons were almost $2000, IIRC. Maybe take $3k for the shortblock and cam?

Of course, the heads aren't even off the car, so something could be wrong with the rotating assembly. That'd be my luck. Huge hole in one of the pistons or something.

Probably going to need bigger injectors and maybe a restall on the converter. Going to call PI soon for their recommendations. Brian said this motor will be happy @ 7k, so I would think a 4200 stall would be a good street/strip compromise. I hope Nate and Mike M. can get the fuel system sorted out. I'd go external pump, but that's $2k, or more, I don't have.

I dunno, maybe a place called Quick Time? I've heard the possibility that they're in Iowa.

I think the conversion to 383 was done @ 25k. Car has 54k on it. Not sure, though. Maybe SDB knows for sure.

I am not too sure on that to be honest. I dont know if the 6-speed would be good for that or not I am helpin dad out with finding info on what stick would be good and if it would hold up or not. I am concerned that it will never use the 6th gear. So would the older 5-speed tranny be as strong or better geared?

WHose TA is that, and why does he think he has 700+rwhp...that would be enough to **** all over your 636!!!!!!!!!! You ran what mid to high 11's at low to mid 120's? That TA should be good for 140-145 mph in the 1/4

Can't remember what the guy's name is, but I'm told it's 715whp with an air filter and 800whp+ with out an air filter (I am NOT making this **** up) 383ci with a d1sc and a 9". From how it ran compared to the bike I honestly think it's a stock motor with a blower. Upper 400s low 500 whp range. My 415 whp 2400lbs civic beat my bike by a half a car from a 45 roll. 636s should run low 10s at mid-low 130s but i fail epicly at launching this thing and have ran mid 11s at mid-high 120s. I relly don't know what the deal is with that thing, Blake saw it launch as was unimpressed as well

However, that RX7 is SIIIIIIIIIIIICK. And it's still on pump gas, it's built for E85 but he keeps blowing out the spark on his LS2 truck coils at high boost
