Sorry we missed you in St. Louis, Sean was super pumped you had just stopped by and got some much needed car talking time in with him. Rob and I stayed two nights and went to the shootout with Sean we all had a good time.. I managed to get 22mpg with the silver car so I was happy
Yeah, looks like we missed each other by less than 24 hours. Sean is good people. Glad you all had a great time at the shootout. Even though I am more of an LTX guy than an LSX guy, I still would have enjoyed going to the LSX shootout. Just wasn't in my busy schedule this year.

Robby, I am just remembering when I was in town (all summer and car season of 2008). Don't take offense to having a clean car! The thing is mint! I just hate to see you drop $20,000 in that car and get to drive it out with the rest of us on the street is all I meant. I am not much of a track guy either. I might go a couple times a year at best. But my car is definatly a street car also, and it gets as much time there as I can put on it.

It just seemed like you were never around when we were hanging out on the street, and I am hoping after you go through the pain and suffering of paying for a proper FI build and dealing with all the issues it will bring you that you will at least make it worth it and drive the thing out on the streets with the rest of us on a regular basis.

Congrats Nate.

I want in on this throwdown this spring/summer. My setup should be back together and tested by then. All I have is a little 347 and a small single turbo though.

Anyone know of who the cheepest (but stil decent) body place in town? I bought a commuter car and its got 2 seperate areas that the paint is starting to buble (rust coming under it) and want it fixed but want it cheep.

Does Switches do that work?

Also, anyone know of where I can get window chips fixed for cheep? I got a quite of $70 but don't know if that is good or bad.

Thanks Eric. I know a few places also (going to see what Maaco's estimate is sometime this week).

I have a feeling the quotes I have are probably accurate. I just hate dropping $ in body work on a car that I know isn't anywhere close to being a great body car. Its not like the thing is a rust bucked or is severly damaged. It just has a lot of little scratches, small dents and some small rust under the paint in a couple places that I don't want to grow into a larger problem.

My uncle does it almost for fun. He did my entire car for 2k, along with Corry's for 2k. That was a bunch of body work, and a full respray. He's the head painter at Dimension Ford, but he has his own shop where he does muscle car restorations, and his side projects. Plus, he seems to work on a "the cooler the car is, the cheaper the price is" basis. I'll shoot you his info

If anyone knows of any books or people interested in helping me that would be great.

I still need to do the fuel system, trans crossmember, plum the power steering box, finish up the wiring, and I am sure a bunch more.
I will keep working at it, and asking questions on here.
Thanks for any help,
Brandon

Still need some help if any is interested. Mostly wiring, like the gauges and fan.
Crossmember is done, ps lines done, fuel system almost done.
Any help woud be awsome, I can thow some money or complementary beers to any helpers.
Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon,

I'm still buried in projects at the moment unfortunately. It'll probably be a few more weeks before I'm close to available to help with much.

The thing about air/water is it heats up and no matter what size heat exchanger it never cools back down enough... Great for the track...not so great for street/roll racing

Nate, i'm not stirring the pot. I do have a question on the A2W setup on that TB. How large was the intercooler and heat exchanger? Was the heat exchanger placed in an area where air will cross over it using the engine fan or ram air from forward movement? How large was the liquid capacity of the reservoir? Was the coolant pump circulating?
The reason i'm asking is largely due to my good luck with the a2w setup on my own car. You know the amount of heat my blower can make. IMO the positive displacement type blowers make the MOST amount of heat than any type of forced induction. With that said, I can't see how you were having such a problem with IAT's unless there was another problem with the system.

Like i said earlier, i'm not trying to ruffle your feathers, but curious as to what was going on.

Did you get your WOT lean condition figured out then?? If not, you need to chill with the track and wait until it's safe. NO NEED TO GO KABOOM!!
