Default Navy Seals

My question is there is a guy at my wifes work that is telling everybody that he was in Seal Team 7 and was wounded during the first Gulf War. I think this dude is full of ****. Is there any way to find out about his military record or if was he was even in the military?? I know that there is a new law out about faking military service and Decorations..

I think the law isn't for bullshiters more like if you lying on a job application about military services.

I just want to call him out on this if he is lying. I know a couple of specials forces dudes and they never go around bragging at the office of the exploits. His name came up that he was in the navy. E-4 Spec. Code STS0412. Is that a rating or a job code?

If hes out bragging about it then he never was a seal. There is no law about lying about stuff. There are laws against military members wearing unauthorized awards though, but hes not in the military anymore apparantly.

Dont know about that one. But I had a briefing by a SEAL at one point and he told me that they dont acknowledge the existance of seal team 7. I would think anyone who made it into something like that (if it exists), then they probably woudlnt be blabing about it. But Im and AF guy, so what the hell do I know.

I wanted to be a SEAL but call me crazy but i want to be able to live a normal life lol. Team 7 was/is real, i've met with former SEALs and read a lot about them. Its the "anti-terrorist" team from what people have told me. It exists but it doesn't. And to answer your question whether he's a fake: yes

NO SEAL BRAGS ABOUT BEING A SEAL. End of story

well they are all "anti-terrorist" teams if you think about it. I was told that before 9/11 team 7 was used to fight the drug war in the America's. I could be wrong though, i'd hate to eat my foot but maybe i am getting team 7 confused with 6

Look at his DD214 it should say the military schools he has been too. Look for something like special weapons warfare. Then you will know for sure.

Do you work with actual qualified special operators or just the POGS that support them?

All army SF qualified soldiers are at least E5's, PLDC and BNCOC are part of the SF qualification process. I would assume the navy is close to that too.

I know I've seen more than just 1, but my instructor at basic training was a PJ and there was an article in his office in a frame on the wall that showed him getting off a C130 after a trip through Iraq and he was an E4 at the time... I've never heard of anyone getting promoted to E5 upon completion of training...

Lol. What some people don't know!!!!

And as far as looking at his DD214, I very seriously doubt that would fly, I know if someone wanted to ask me to look at mine, I would laugh at them. Thats none of there buisness, unless its for a Job.

But what you can do, is ask him were all he was stationed, and how long he was in, You can break down his time line of schooling and training, And if the dates seem fishy more than likely he is lying, Cause he will have to go through a lot of training before he was to ever go over and fight. Its not like he goes to Buds, and bam he is one mean fighting machine. And usually from what I see, is when some one that is in the SEAL's or EOD, they just don't get out after there 4 or 5 years are up, And I wonder why he was only an E-4 when he got out, If I am not mistaken, depending on there job title, they make rank pretty quick. Correct me if I am wrong Nasty, But that is what my understanding is.
