Default motor/mileage

i purchased my car with 76k miles and now it has 96k miles on it.

for a 2001 camaro ss is that high miles 96k.

I also from the dealer i was told that the stock one of the bearings went out because i heard a ringing noise but once they replce the motor it still has the same noise

as they were taking the block down is it possible that they found some mods that slp put in it and told me that it was messed up just to get the parts??

and now im stuck with a rebuild motor?? is there any way that i can find some information out about that old motor or will the new motor be the same??

low average of 15K a year would be 120K for an 8 year old car. assuming it was bought in 2000. but even still for a 7 year old car your about 10K miles below what would be expected out of a car that was drivin on an even semi-regular basis.

and anything is possible with dealerships. you should have asked for a personal inspection of the part they replaced.

slp did not change any motor parts. you have the same LS1 as every Z28 running down the road

[QUOTE=shtnfrds;10751240]low average of 15K a year would be 120K for an 8 year old car. assuming it was bought in 2000. but even still for a 7 year old car your about 10K miles below what would be expected out of a car that was drivin on an even semi-regular basis.

so my 01 dumdumdumdumdum with 44k and the boss lady's 98 Z28 with 17k on it. I guess we are doing real good.

the SS should technically make more power because it has a lid and better exhaust but not by much. and slp never did anything to the ls1 in the ss (internally)

^^^^i dont believe all SSs had lids or exhaust. some had NO options. so only silver wheels hood spoiler badges. thats it.
