99 trans am, automatic...when i was running mostly stock with 2.76's my average mpg was like 19-21 with a mix of HW and City driving...now after 3.43 gears, 224/230 581.588 114 cam, headers, ORY, QTP elec cutout, and tune i average 13-15mpg...and i recently took an interstate trip and got 19mpg...is this normal? i know people with 3.73 that get better gas mileage...also a recent factor might be the cold weather here? i dont know...any ideas? bad plugs or something?

One thing I have noticed of late is not getting close to the same amount of miles from each tank. For me, I think some of it has to do with crap gas. Up to 10% can be alcohol now.

what do u mean it should run fine, after i did the upgrades and tune and stuff i noticed that like at a red light i have to slam on the break to keep the car from wanting to push me through the light...i can just cruse at 30 with it in gear and not touch the gas pedal...i asked about it and he said after i get the stall it will quit doing that...it just pushes really hard, if i put it in gear it wants to take off... idles at 600rpm

A stall WILL NOT help the car pushing or idling rough. That is a sign that its not tuned well. Whenever you get a good tune the car wont surge as much and be much much easier to drive.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...questions.html
If the car is dying at the idle then its not tuned well. A stall does NOTHING at idle as its not even working aside from just pumping fluid.

Do i need a stall with a cam???
Usually. Most people tune the car for the cam which involves raising the idle speed on the car. Without a stall, you will have to just stand on the brakes to keep the car still because the engine is now idleing at 800rpm. Also, a bigger cam shifts the power band of the car higher, a stall enables you to jump into the cam's powerband faster so youll be faster.
that was on the link that you posted...and it seems to me like if the car wasnt pushing me then it wouldnt die...when i put it in gear (that only happens like twice a week..)

Yes at IDLE. You are having trouble with it coasting at 30 MPH without ANY input of the throttle. Thats a HUGE problem.
THAT is what a stall is for.
Oh well, Im trying to help you understand that the tune is all jacked up and that is the reason you are having so many troubles with it. People have put in FAR bigger cams with the stock stall and have virtually no driveability problems with a good tune.

well with a STALL on stock heads/cam my gas mileage is about the same as yours...
highway, with the converter locked and cruising along about 90mph, i can get as much as 22mpg.

Thats not necessarily true. I have TEA TFS 215's, bigger cam, vic jr, NW90 and elbow, M6 and 3.90 gears. Based on the numbers in your sig i put out 55 more hp and i still got 17-20 mpg. Not trying to show you up, but just saying it is possible to mod that much and still get decent gas milage. I dont honestly give a **** about gas milage, but i was really impressed with that.
