Default LS1/LS6 intake diff?

Looking to get a ls6 intake but need to know the difference between ls1 and ls6 so I don't waste my $! Isn't the 6 flat and the 1 curves up some? I know there is more so let me know. Thanks in advance!!

The ls6 has a flat bottom. The ls1 is not as deep on the pass side.

You can use your fuel rails you have now unless you just want newer ones. Ls6 intake with fuel rails will probably be around 350. Just the intake usually sells for 300

I dont have the pics but the bottom of the intake has different patterns. Also most if not all LS1 intakes have been drilled for the EGR. SOME guys who retain that on older cars have modified (see drilled) the LS6.

Make sure you take care of the coolant lines. You can either buy them off the internet or you can just do what I did and just take your LS6 manifold and, using pliers, snap the ridges off. That is PLENTY to clear the lines, but for the sake of cleanliness, I followed up with sandpaper. While you're in there, make sure your knock sensors aren't corroded, if so, go ahead and replace them. Use a shop-vac to make sure there is no moisture in the holes, put the rubber grommets back on and take some high-temp RTV and put a nice bead around the grommets and seal it with your finger. I know it sounds excessive, but I have had to change my front knock sensor twice due to moisture getting in somehow. After sealing it up, it does fine. I'm sure it has to do with me living on the water though... Hope this helps!

Kyle

P.S.: Do NOT tilt the manifold back when removing it! You will snap the oil pressure sensor!! Lift up and out!

you will need to remove some of the ribs on the bottom of the ls6 intake so it will fit over the coolant line.

Are you asking about the LS1 intake or the LS6 intake or am I missing something?

LS6 intakes usually go for between $275-300 w/o rails
