The ALMIGHTY Eagle Talon!..... lol

Okay, I'm assuming you and others will know what I am responding too. I'm not wasting my time messing with quoting everything properly anymore it's too tedious.
So, you are saying that people who get heavily into modding have more than one car? I wonder how many members of this board who are heavy into modding their STREET LS1's have a seperate street car?
Yes, everyone wants to "save money", but you don't go as far as to drive a Civic. It is apparently obvious that nobody who races or wants a nice car is in it to "save" money. That just doesn't happen.
So, you say your modded mustang is cheaper/faster than a stock LS1....how much do you have in it? Older, used LS1's aren't exactly expensive nowadays. Also, it stands to reason a much newer car is going to be more reliable as well.
I see now that I proved my points in the race car vs street car discussion you are going to discredit the entire category by saying that my goals for my street car don't apply to everybody. Yeah, right.
I think it's safe to say that people with one LS1 car as their daily driver (majority of owners) have the same two goals as me.
1) Reliable daily transport
2) Go fast
In that order. Or are you going to argue that too?

Like I said before, if you think you can heavily modify your car without any problems, you are naive. Something always happens.

Goals for a streetable car (like my mustang) are not the same goals you have for your daily driver.

Or are you just saying that people with one car want it to be reliable? Because that's pretty obvious.

I have a lot of respect for the LS1. If you think that makes me a ricer and a homosexual, then perhaps you are the one with the problem.

those DSM's are great cars. not as reliable as a Toyota Camry, but you have to remember that it's a turbo car. if someone kept one stock and drove it normally with some here-and-there spirited driving, it should live pass 100k easily.
but people buy these DSMs to modify, upping the boost, and launch the AWD at 5000rpm....what do you expect? just like the weak 10-bolts in Fbodies, it will give out.
and a Ford is about as reliable as a GM....which means they aren't that great especially if compared to Toyota. my most reliable car was an '86 Chevy Nova....lol, a Toyota.

You brought up the respect thing initially, along with the quotes of "respect" from FnF, and the picture of Vin Diesel. I wasn't aware saying that you respect something made you a ricer. Or made you "sound like a ricer."
Of course, I always forget around here that whenever you say anything good about a car that isn't an LS1, you are a ricer. Silly me.

Things I've compared so far in this thread: 4 cylinder to 8 cylinder (no brands), street car to race car (no brands), bike to z28 (only brand mentioned is an LS1), and z28 to z06 and srt-10 viper (apparently ignored, but an LS1 and another chevy, and a dodge, out of which I own zero).

when you start compairing anything on this board, in the manner that you do, a B.S. flag gets raised. im not saying you are preaching for us to see the light to buy another brand. you do it more to insult. and im not talking just about this post. you have done it in other posts.
You keep talking about my brand loyalty, which is actually what I'm "preaching" against. You own an LS1 and think it's cool. Fine. It isn't the end all of cars, and (hopefully) doesn't mean you can't admire or talk about other cars as well. The honda boards/SRT-4 boards are talking about how bad-*** their cars are, and you call them ricers. This board does it, and I get yelled at because "What did I expect from an LS1 board?"
I love it.

You can post up that the LS1 is the best car ever made, and will be until the end of time. I will reply and laugh at you.

who would have thought that people would go to LS1tech.com to talk about how great they think LS1s are? thats the mature thing to do. immature thing would be to register on another board and have condescending things to say to every thread they start. hmmmm..........

A previous girlfriend of mine had a turbo Talon. It was fun to drive, but it wasn't without problems, even stock. One of the biggest hazards is the "interference engine". Basically, if the timing belt/chain breaks, the pistons will hit the valves and you have instant engine trash on your hands. Owners need to change their timing belt/chain religously at no more than every 60k for this reason. When my gf had hers changed by satan (dealer), the car never ran the same again. They hosed something with the turbo in the process. Two more trips and they never really fixed it. Maybe it was just a dealer problem, maybe it isn't a solid design - not sure.

Do you guys remember a while back there was a funny post about this Talon driver that talked a good game but never wanted to race some Z28? It was great, he would say this and that about the Godly Talon but always had an excuse of why he COULDN'T find time to back it up. Then it looked like he was coming around finally and realizing he didn't have the car he once thought he did. All of a sudden within a few days he was back to his old tricks, bashing LS1s. I wonder what happened? Boy that was so long ago...memories.

That was you.
here you stuck up for the DSM.
on another recent post you stuck up for evos. ive also seen you stick up for mustangs.
this has nothing to do with you being brandloyal and everything to do with you being insulting/annoying.
Seriously man, it's just the internet.
when someone wants to rant about one car or a particular group they dont want a "voice of reason" to come back and give them examples of that car being great or examples on how LS1s arent that great.
This guy in the talon needed to be put in his place. This guy was a retard. Does that make all DSMs crap, or all DSM drivers morons? No. And it certainly doesn't make all LS1 drivers above anything. You get into arguments amongst yourselves all the time.
thats what it boils down to, you annoying almost everyone on this thread. and i know that you are entitled to your opinion, but that doesnt mean you cant keep it to yourself.

Great Blue Jesus, you all act like I'm annoying everyone by forcing you to read something. Skip it and move on with your life. I have time to post up here, and I enjoy discussing things. If you don't, why hang around?
