Ttops and Subs?
Hey guys,
Welcome me to the club, i just bought my '02 WS6 this week.
I like the ttop holder in the back, but a friend of mine offered to selling me his sub box that takes up the entire back space, its made for F-bodies, he had it in his 97 SS. Also comes with 2, 12" kicker comp subs and a 600 watt amp. I could probably get it for $200-300.
I'm debating whether to do this because I don't know if I want to be putting my ttops in the back seats
I know I could get the sub enclosure that fits in the side, but this one is pretty cheap in price
what does everybody else here do?

No not really.....i can do it while I'm sitting in the car even...used to do it while waiting on traffic to get outta school back in the HS days. I personally would find an encloser that sits on the flat part thats carpeted behind the rear seat. You could get one thats fiberglass and painted and looked pretty sweet. Depends how much $$ u wanna drop.

Hmmmmm... T-Tops in the back seat? Slamming on brakes at 70 mph because of some idiot in front of me? T's slamming around ripping up the interior? I don't think I like that idea!!

i made my own stealth enclosure, and I have a JL 10 W 6 in it. Its pretty loud, more so than I want it. In fact I have a friend who has two twelves mounted in his, but since our cars have hatch backs, neither of us can stand to have his system turned up very loud, and even turned way down, his bass is WAYYYY over powering. You'll find that one good stealth enclosure with a GOOD 10 inch will be powerful enough.
Gotta love the hatch back. Not to mention a stealbox dosent draw attention, and looks very clean once installed.

Hey guys I had the same problem so me and my friend built a custom box that has two 10's and an 800 watt amp that sits right on top of the hump in the trunk it fits perfect and is easy to put in and out (I race it so thats why I made it easy to remove). If anyone would like to see pictures please email me or pm me and i will send them. If anyone is interested I would consider selling it also. Let me know.

subthump.com also makes boxes for the rear well that still allow the t-tops to be stored back there. There is a slot right in front of the subs that they slide down in. Hard to explain, just check the website. They are available for 1 or 2 10's or 12's, and I also think they make a triple 10 box. They also make on called a millhouse box which is like the regular box but mounts the subs facing down, so when you look from the driver seat all you see is carpet/vinyl, and if you need to take the tops off you just fold it forward. Check the site out, they have some cool stuff.

i had an awesome sub box in my 96 z28, it took the t-top things out and enclosed the whole thing fiberglassed and ported 1 15' Rockford Power Stage 2 (800 bux for the sub and 750 for the box) but it hit nearly 160 db with just one 15 and a 1000 watt jl amp. i wish i still had it but it was too heavy and my 00 TA sits way to low. if someones interested the friend that bought it from me wants to sell iti have pics. ONE AWESOME BOX but i think you get the best spl if you put the subs where the t-tops go thats just my .02

maybe buy one of the ttop bags that came in the third gens and attach it to the hooks on the flat part and then the other ends could be altered to attach somewhere.
