I'm looking for pure opinion here. I just sold my M6 F-body and am looking for a replacement. At first, I had up my @$$ about driving a six-speed, but after driving a few autos (w/ and w/o stalls), I'm looking into both.
If given the chance to have your trans swapped and everything else kept the same, would you do it? Please list your mods and driving conditions as well, thanks!

completely happy with my M6, would not swap it for anything. A fast car should always bring manual transmission. I drive regular now and by regular i mean if I am not doing the speed limit i do 5 above. Mods include full exhaust, fast90/90, pulley, and tuning.

My 2000 was an auto and I got bored with it and wished I had bought an M6 and a WS6 seeing the other one was not a WS6.
Well, long and behold I had a detonating LS1 within 6K miles after it got warmer out and after 3 attempts to fix it, the Service Mgr told me to file my Lemon Law papers to GM because he couldn't fix my car. I went Lemon Law and won after GM told me it was normal to have an LS1 that pings. Well, pinging now and then could be carbon on the pistons but when you have copper, silicon and fuel in your oil.........that is not normal.
So the 2nd time around 10 months later I ordered what's in my sig, WS6 and M6 couldn't be more happier with it, I will own my car 5 yrs next month.

i bought my car with the 6-speed having little knowledge at the time about cars and had the " stick shift is faster mentality." now, i really wish i woulda went with the auto. i hate driving stick shift. it has become highly annoying to me and id def rather have a stalled auto over an M6 any day of the week. I really regret getting an M6

I do... some days. I know I'd probably miss shifts and such and a converter is sweet ( so I've heard ) but I really REALLY wanted an M6 when I was looking for WS6's, but I found a very low milage TA ( with an aftermarket ram air hood ) that was an auto for what I thought was a great price ( 99 TA with 18720 miles for 15k in awesome shape, tinted windows and ram air hood ).
I've thought about selling mine, but I love this car but I really really wish I would have waited and found an 02 NBM WS6 M6....

i was kinda lookin for an M6 car but came across this, classic too good to pass up deal yada yada. it will still spill my coffee in the morning if im not paying attention stall/tuning coming real soon, i think a stalled auto is just as much fun as an M6.
mods: homemade BGRA/lid/filter/ported tb/cutout
driving style: sees WOT a "few" times a day , mostly normal driving though.

I had a 01 WS6 for almost 2 years. I had a load of mods, 3500 stall, cam, longtubes, etc, etc. The car ran 11.26@120.83 mph on nittos. I wanted a 6 speed SO bad I traded it off to get the car I currently have now.
Money isn't like it used to be.....divorces SUCK!!! But I am still happier with my bolt on M6 than I was with my modded A4.
To each his own though, I wouldn't have an A4 unless I had so much money that I could have several F bodies, and then I wouldn't mind a high stalled A4 for the strip.

I ran into the right deal on my 99 A4 Z28 seeing as it came with some mods....and haven't really regreted the auto to much until now.
I think some people frown upon guys like me who drive fast cars that are AUTO.
So I'm looking for a M6...which sucks in traffic but when you're in the mood to row your own gears there's nothing like it.

I think we all got hosed with our A4 "deals"
Ell Ess Won, who cares if some schmuck frowns upon you for driving an auto sports car? When you kick his a$$ at the track and he uses the excuse, "Oh I missed a shift" you can smile and just nod your head as you were the winner... but then cry in a corner because he gets to slam through the gears on the way home
