Unhappy low oil pressure

i just got my car back today with the rebuilt LQ9 motor. my oil pressure is really low idleing at like 20.....anybody have any idea what may be causing this? im gonna drop it back off at the shop tomorrow to have it checked out. my other mods are comp xr273hr, mac mids, borla, lid.

probably a pinched o-ring or the engine wasn't put together right. You should have that low of oil pressure. You should have around 40psi warm idle.

thats exactly what it was man a pinched o-ring! they said they will have it fixed by tomorrow hopefully.

now they tell me they found metal shavings in the oil.... they must have messed up real bad putting that motor in. i guess reputation only goes so far.. this is irritating!

You need to tell them to fix their problem. You probably need the crank to be polished and new bearings put in. However, even at 20psi it should have been enough to run fine without damage. Either way, you need to get to the bottom of it and find out what needs to be done (at no cost might I add)

yea man they were replacing some bearings and stuff. and yea they are paying for it. they started to get and attitude with me cause i was upset but dont i have a reason? they messed up bad and they have a really good reputation.

when it comes to big money and work people get pissy....even if they screw up...thats when you bust there *****....by the way what type of metal was it? copper or alumn.?

i beleive iron. its a 6.0 iron block w/ aluminum heads all the same internals as an ls1
