Well after years of looking i have the ride i dreamed about all my life. Its pretty solid to have only cost me $760 and i drove it home tonight. Its far from perfect but i have plans to make it just like whats in my head. It needs some body work, doors, fenders and im looking for a fleet side bed. Now that i said that ill tell ya what it it. 1971 swb c10 stepside. It has a strong 350 in it backed with a saginaw 4 speed. The ride home was better than the 92 camaro. I lost a friend over this truck already. I told him i was picking up said truck in the morning and he said too late, that he already handed the money over. I called the guy to see if it was true and it wasnt. He wanted to give a deposit and come get it tomorrow and the guy said no. So i told him i had cash in hand and would even throw in a little if he let me pick it up tonight. He told me for the price we agreed on i could go ahead and come get it. We agreed on $750 but i wasnt stopping to break a 20. He bought the truck in 96 with plans of fixing it up but never did. Its just sat in his shop being started once a month. Now im going to put my touch on it. Anyway here are a few pics. Ill post some better ones in the morning.

That's pretty good for the price. The interior looks great for the age.

I hear ya, did you ever go look at it? I seen it on C/L and my jaw dropped. I know wher several ok bodies are but they are selling anywhere from $1500 to $2500. This truck is as solid and only half the price. I just still cant believe that its sitting in my front yard.

Never went and looked at it. I was really debating on if I wanted another project. I already have a truck I'm repairing and of course the camaro is just neverending lol.

Well, i bought a 67 small window c10 tonight for $100 to use as a parts truck. Its LWB but i really wanted the rare cab with the small back glass. It also came with some clean fenders, doors, a ok bed, and a bunch of other stuff. Im going to pull the 67 cab and fix any problems it has while i drive the 71. Once the cab is the way i want it im going to swap the cabs and front clips out. I have both titles that are clean and it will be done right. The truck will be a fleetside 67 small window when its done and i plan to put a LSx in it. Im sure it will be something stock like a 5.3 or 6.0.

Well folks I discovered something horrible after tearing into the engine.
I pulled the oil pan and all the remaining oil was silver/grey, and could pass for silver paint there was so much ground metal.
To top it off there was every kind of shaving you could imagine, slivers of metal, metal flakes, and metal shavings the size of your pinky finger.
So far I've pulled the first four pistons and no huge chunks of metal missing, the crank's not too bad, but still got some ground spots.
The driver's side piston number three is really grinding when I turn the crank so hopefully I find the major damage there, because it's gotta come from somewhere.
