Losing your phone sucks. I sent you my phone numbers.
Guys with kids,
If you buy a pack of Crayola Crayons, you can get a code for their website where you can turn any picture into a coloring page. WAY more fun than Mickey Mouse and the gang.

man this sucks, first couldnt get the harmonic balancer hub off, now cant get it on...off to buy a installer tmrw....then i didnt mark the hub when removing it, so its a shot in the dark as far as getting the arrow lined up correctly for TDC.....and to top it off pep boys STILL hasnt recieved my water pump in yet because of the holidays. water pump and balancer install and she should be ready to fire up.found out i have 7 8.5mm MSD plug wires on the car, number one is an old cheap wire and the coil pack wire is an old plug wire as well......wish i didnt have work this week so i could drive the car some.
in the words of maverick and goose, "i feel the need, the need for speed!" are at least a slow cruise to check for leaks since the seal on the water pump shaft got alittle messed up on install of the timing cover.
sorry for the rant, im frustrated. a 1-2 day project is in to 4+

I also need a new air filter if someone has one laying around...this car is starting to **** me off. Balancer is half inch from being lined up, and the list of parts gets longer and longer
#6611
I have the balancer on, but its a half inch from being seated, I had to buy bolts longer than stock to pull it onto the crank, now I need the factory bolt to finish but the threads are pulled flat on it, so now I need a new bolt. The k&n filter is trashed and bent up so I need to replace it...I have left for the night so no pics till I get to work on it again.

Are you talking about a stock filter? if so i think i have an old k and n you can have

Its a k&n intake...the cone filter.
The factory bolt has aperntly been put on and off many times, the thread are all jacked up on the end. Everytime I get it threaded in and torque it it pulls loose. The new bolts I used to suck up the balancer worked fine so I know the threads in the crank are ok but its tme to replace the balancer bolt.

Thanks but me and this car are going to learnto coexist, and if we don't...she gets a new motorthat hasn't been molested by someone else. I'm just learning the hoops an lt1 makes its owners go thru
#6617
Pull all the LT1 stuff out and sell it all to me, then buy the 5.3 LS based motor on craigslist for 800, find a trans and harness then buy you a turbo and have fun with it. The LT1 cars are a PITA and you have much more blood, sweat, and tears to shed learning about it. If you get everything lined out and want it faster, LT1s love having a 100 shot of nitrous run through them lol.

I wanna build a street lt1 for the car but first I have to fix everything the prvious owner broke. Just a lot at one time. Lol I love the car and I'm very anxiouus to have it on the road. I need to learn patience
#6619
That makes 2 of us lol. Im also in the middle of a build. Im building a motor for my truck but came across a motor and trans that runs great and pulls. I traded a free car audio system for the truck the motor is in so i can get my truck on the road until my motor is done. I have NO patience.

I'm excited to learn about the lt1 and all its quirks, I'm looking for a bare block to start with and build up from there. I've alway wanted to build a car myself and my TA is it. Suspension brakes engine and iknterior I want to build everything with as little work done by a shop as possible. Just me and some friiends.
