I know what u mean about the srett manners. My car is a bitch to drive on a hot day lol. I would want something like a TREX for a 408 tho. There are so many cubes to use the air with a trex. Big cubes are the way to go for sure! The thought of tearing my motor out is like having a nightmare lol

Just got back from Hot August Nights, it was awesome so many super nice cars. They had lots of cruise nights going on and that was my favorite seeing the cars driving around. There were a lot of cars down there but a lot more still on the way, it was just getting started but those were the dates that worked for us.
TMoney sorry to hear about the ticket.
Turk that car will be sweet with H/C.

Ya but my cam would be tiny in a 408.you can't even hear Ponchos MS4 in his car. So something in the high 240s low 250s would be probly be good in a 408. I mean I don't spec cams for a living but that sounds about right to me. Plus big cubes give you more low end torque anyway

What a shitty day...so I drove the camaro down to cathlamet and on my way back to longview my ******* wheel falls off! Now I get to pay a few hundred bucks for towing and my wheel is all fucked up and god knows what else!

It's true you can have a car that runs hard without having a large cam but it really boils down to the combination working as a whole. An improperly spec'd smallish cam can still be a dog even with good flowing heads, and vice-versa. My combination is a good example of a decent working combo (when it's running lol...). Most people would look at the flow numbers and runner volume on my L92's (357/270 cfm) and say they're way too big for a 370, but when coupled to a good sized cam to keep the air moving at a decent velocity then it'll make good power. Hell this little 370 is making as much torque as some of the 408's out there. If the car had better mufflers and some street tires, it would be perfectly streetable too. I've driven it to the track a couple times and also to Toms dyno this last time and it cruised at 65mph in 6th gear with no surging or bucking at all.
So in the end it's all about what the owner wants/needs from the car/engine combination.

Glad you're ok man. That could have been REALLY ugly at freeway speeds.

Holy crap man sorry to hear that. Which wheel and did it do much damage to the car itself like body panels? I've seen some cars where that happened and it totally crunches the fenders when the car tries to roll over the wheel/tire....
Glad you're ok man. That could have been REALLY ugly at freeway speeds.

Mike. I was coming back and my car started shaking pretty bad I stopped to check it out. And the lug nuts seemed fine so I continued on. Then I watched a lugnut flyoff in front of the car(the rear wheel fell off) and all my lugs were loose when I checked it again. So I was a couple minutes from cathlamet so I was gonna limp it back real slow to get them tightened. Then I watched the rest of the lugnuts flyoff and the car started bouncing and such. I was goin slow enough that the wheel is just hanging off one of the rotors and I'm waiting for a tow now

Glad to hear you are ok Joe. I had a wheel come off going about 60. Put me into a fence and did exactly what Mike said. Shreaded my car. Oh well it was a Honda it deserved it...

Ya I'm glad it wasent worse. I found 3 of the lug nuts to hold the wheel on while we got the car on the trailer. But I have to replace all of my lugs nuts. And looks like I'm gonna need a new wheel. Might as well just get two 17x11 for the back now. That's the upside I guess lol. And the tow bill was only 150
