I got the motor from pick a part down here. It has 85k on it.

Joe: you don't have to stroke it bro. There is a turbo truck that has 1,000 plus whp without stroking it, only time will tell. But I'll tell you this, turbo cost way to much right now.

That's awesome man let me know of you need any help I could try to help as I don't live to far from ya. As for the weight I wouldn't be to concerned about that I was just saying it was about the only disadvantage I could think of. Did you end up getting that ls6 intake?

tyler, i wont have my motor back for a coiple weeks, but hopefully when i get it itll be a week at most till its running again....got soooooo many other projects going on with the car while its down, lol i have no idea what to work on! and im waiting on atleast 20 orders from ebay, summit etc.

haha, I didn't realize how many it was until I counted my slips.

I basically ran 108 and change all night no matter what I did and 13.4-13.8 - based on my 60' time which was still a best of 2.2.

I had a best freak run of 13.4 @ 111 with a 2.2 60' - so the same time as my best but with 3 more mph

mathematically I should be able to spin 4th to ~118 but i'm running into the rev limiter at ~106-107 and having to grab fifth which is also hurting me on the big side.

A ported LS6 manifold isn't worth much power wise. There was a few posts in the dyno section about guys that have done it and the gains were like 2-3hp on Cam only and H/C set ups. Tony Mamo @ AFR I believe did one.

i'm running a 3.91 but I run smaller tires - 245/40/17 compared to you fbody guys.

It's SUPPOSED to be 118, i've done the math on every online calculator and myself, i'm not sure what's going on but 4th is rev limiting at ~105-107 according to the mph indicator at PIR. Maybe I should grab my lappy and go log it and see what it is actually doing at the top of 4th...

Can you run a taller tire on that thing? Might need to do a gear change anyway though since it sounds to me like you'll be pushing what you've got. Speedo might also be off a tad bit causing it to hit the limiter.

If it makes you feel better, my V6 is faster

when i had my 4.71's i had to shift into 5th in the 1/4 it was ****

I'm running basically the fattest tire I can, can't go much taller either unfortunately, the body work on the bmw is a huge limiting factor in tire fitment.

I've gotta figure out my issue, I know the GM pcm might have a slightly different tire size but I don't believe I have a speed limiter anywhere in place that should be getting in the way.

I need to log a 4th gear redline pull and see what the GM PCM actually thinks is going on and troubleshoot from there. I shouldn't have a problem running 4th to the end of the 1/4 and pulling an even better MPH at the lights.

I don't doubt the v6 is faster, we'll see how it goes once i've got my slicks on next weekend... but I'll hang out with any stripped out purpose built cars in the twisties too
