Default Houston Area Body Shop recommendations..

I have a crack in the rear bumper of my 01 ss and some minor dings and scratches here and there. On top of that my paint job has always had issues when looking up real close on the paint job (crow's feet pattern, spray paint look) all in all just a very bad factory paint job from day 1.

I am not looking for any kind of show quality work here this is a daily driver and hardly something garage kept and pampered. Looking for quality work with a nice price.

TIA

Northside of town, Richey Road Collision. They do excellent work, and are a sponsor here. http://www.red-corvettes.com/richey.shtml

South side of town, Lanes High Tech, also do nice work. They do not do full repaints though, unless it is an insurance job.

For sure. It's easy to hit $800-$1000 in just paint and consumables when doing a paint job. And labor isn't cheap, and then they have a ton of overhead (EPA regulations make running paint shops pretty expensive - you can't just vent stuff to atmosphere or pour gun cleaner down the drain). You'll get a cheap quote at Maaco for a single stage scuff-n-spray, but in 2 years when it's all peeling away because their $7/hr sanding guy was hung over that day, you'll be talking to those 'higher priced' shops again.

Well i really didn't want to go Maaco but it just seems like it's either maaco or 3500+ and if those are my only 2 choices i must choose maaco. I just can't spend that kind of money on a paint job for this car.
