98 to 02 ECU with EFI live
I have 98 ta with built 408 blah blah fully tuned. Can I down load that and convert it for an 02 ECU and up load it? I asked frost 90% shure he can but didnt get an answer. I zero issue paying some one to do this. I'd like to make the fuel gauge etc work. Should have efi live next week.

you can but some things are different. I did this and it requires opening both the 98 and the 02 in separate windows and going down each section and transferring what you can. some tables are smaller some bigger and some in one and not the other. its not bad just some time needed

you can have the Fuel segment replaced to get the fuel gauge to work..
the pcm is physically different(different hardware and different pin inputs and outputs), so you need to have a 99-02 pcm to use the 02 OS...
the 98 OS will not take the 02 OS and it will become a brick if you somehow got it to write to it.
you can use your 98 harness...but you need to basically pull all the pins and put them back in to the connectors to match up for the 02 pcm pinouts...its not an easy process, and you really need to take your time with it to get it correct.
mos of the tables will copy using the the compare window in HP Tuners...
some will have to be manually copied and pasted...

^ pretty much what he said for the fuel gauge to work you need to do a fuel gauge segment swap.

may give an idea whats needed in post 23 but will take some more looking

yes thats it in a nutshell.
but you can use this as well http://www.chipsbyal.com/convert98/
ive used it on a couple just to simplify things less thinking on my part.
for me it still made the harness look jumbled and unclean.. I went back and just depinned and untangled each wire at a time for a direct shot out of the main harness to its new home. made it much cleaner.
