ROLL CALL! Trans Am Nationals
Post up if you're going, what day you plan on arriving & what you're bringing.
I'll be there on Friday. I"ll be in my Pewter Metallic 2000 Trans Am.
I just found out the reason the show was moved to Downtown Dayton while attending a car show on Sunday. Apparently, they planned to tear down the Dayton Airport Hotel because it was losing money (and build a new hotel to replace it....as if that makes any sense?). Anyway, the show ended up relocating to the Marriott in Downtown Dayton. After the move, I guess the folks at the Dayton Airport Hotel called back and said something to the effect of "Hey, they decided to not tear down the hotel until the other one is built....so come on back!" Well, the show organizers were already contractually obligated to the Marriott.........so high ho high ho it's off to the Marriott we go!

I'm going to be arriving Friday morning (driving to ciincinnati thursday night to stay with relatives) and am staying at the super 8 that's about 2 miles from the hotel. i found out it has no pool which sucks since it was nice to relax in the pool at the other S8 i stayed at last year up by the old hotel. I'm going to be bringing the car in my sig. a 1995 trans am.

This will be my 12th year straight coming down. Only going to do a one day turn and burn on Saturday. Plan on arriving around noon and going out to Tipp City and staying there till about 8:30- 9 pm and coming home. I haven't done the full 3 days since 2006. I want to scope out this new hotel and see what the deal is. Bringing the bucket in my sig.

I guess we'll see how the Marriott goes. Does anyone know if there is any type of security at the new hotel for the cars?

The NCR Corporation moved to Atlanta, so the parking lot now belongs to the University of Dayton. The parking lot has lights, but I've been told that nobody knows how to turn them on (hopefully that has been resolved). If they can't be turned on, I've been told that portable lighting will be brought in.

If I had a collapsible bicycle, I'd just leave the car in the old NCR parking lot (where the car show will be held) and ride it back-and-forth to the Super 8.

so according to the site it says "pool under renovation" so maybe there is a pool that has been built that was not there in 2006 (the one review i saw that said there was no pool was dated sometime in 06)

Well it looks like a decent place. You can always fill the tub up in your room
Other than the one year I actually stayed with someone at the Dayton Airport Inn, this is the closest I've stayed to the show. That's what I'm most looking forward to...and hopefully my fiancee will be able to get off work and join me.
