Either replace the plastic stops and bend the end of the arm so it contacts it more directly or replace the whole motor.

are we talking about the little white stopper? If so just wrap some electrical tape around it. Put a couple wraps, enough to simulate the size of the stopper.

It is what you guys are thinking but I have an LT1 and its apparently different.

LS1 style

LT1 style, Mine
This is what mine do, The cover fell off the driver's side which is why it bounces because the gear doesn't stay in place. The Passenger side is stripped so bad it doesn't go up or down unless you pull it to get it started.

Driver's side, How would you replace that broken piece at the top?

what about a long bolt coming from the back? Use the head as the stop and then 2 bolts to hold it and adjust the length.

Thats why you have the bolt stick out 2" to 3".

the bolt would have to come towards the front of the car about a half inch. The arm itself doesn't reach far enough to touch the bolt as is.

What I'm saying is, make a new stop. One from steel that is stronger than the plastic crap. The exact method you use, I'll leave up to you.

Does the arm even clear that top front bolt? It seems like it's supposed to go the other way so the extra threaded end is out of the way.

Maybe take a piece of metal and drill 2 holes that can be held in place by the 2 upper motor bolts. Then weld a metal post of some kind where the old plastic post used to be.

Yeah it goes right by it. I'll try what you suggested.

My headlight motor is acting up again....the driver's side won't even pop up at all...I'll have to investigate this weekend.

Does any place fabricate stationary headlights for our cars? I'm getting tired of this.

Default different(?) headlight problem

I have a 2002 WS6. When I turn on the headlights, the right one only comes about halfway up. If I open the hood then turn the lights on, it comes all the way up. I can see scuff marks on the hood where the headlight door is hanging, but I can't see any obvious differences in the mechanisms of the two lights that would explain the problem. The only thing I can see is that the right headlight door seems to be a bit higher than the hood, whereas the left one is flush, or even a bit lower.

your headlight doors have screws on the top and sides so you can adjust them.

There is a video in the first post, showing how you can adjust the cover. It should only take a few minutes to adjust the lid/cover.

I have this problem with the driver's side headlight.
I got as far as the first page of replies, but i'm going to have to come back & read the remaining 22 pages....

OK, so I just replaced my driver side headlight motor with a refurb unit from autozone, but when I hit the switch it only goes up an inch. If I raise it manually, it will go all the way up. When I hit the switch to close, it will stay up while the passenger side goes down, and when i hit the switch to turn on it will go down, while the passenger goes up.

I've thought it would sync, but I've tried about 10 times and it hasn't worked.

Did you position the motor arm so the end sticks out forward? That will give it a 270* motion. If the arm is backward it will limit it to about 90*. Make sure it is hitting it's bumpstops on the proper side.
