Both symptoms will disappear once you have fixed the gear issue
Mine was doing the same up/down maneuver when my gear was worn out.

Well update already, after 3 times, the headlight is already messing up, instead of not going down now it only goes 3/4 of the way up but I can help it go up and it finishes going the rest of the way. So it seems I will need to replace the gear or motor anyways Blegh....

you're just delaying, fact is that you're gonna replace them anyway.
how slow was it turning up.. if it was slow then you might have over torqued the arm.

the headlight goes up the same speed as the other headlight does but once the arm is fully extended and it needs to go that little bit extra distance to fully lift up the headlight is when it starts getting bad. I can see the headlight bouncing up and down until I lift it up myself and then it is good

Is there a relay that allows the power to go to the motors?

Well I got my replacement gear in the nail today, 12 bucks shipped from ebay brand new, it's not the brass one but the odds of me having to deal with this again aren't very high. Anyways when I took the old gear out there were multiple teeth missing on both sides, so I replacedit abs now lights work fine.

Next issue is replacing the horn. Is there a write up on removing them anywhere?

Default Something wrong with my headlights.

I have a 2001 Trans Am

and I went to school around 5pm and then when I got off I went inside my car and started the car up, and seen the

- Headlights are on, but doesn't come up.
-fog lights are blinking
- the high beam lights are Dim when not turn on
- the Wipers are not working
- I can start the radio and everything without a key?
- when I turn the window switch down, the headlights comes up.
- and I also hear a clicking sound I think around the headlight area and fuse box.

I check the fuses and they are fine, and check all the bulbs and wiring and everything is good.

reset the battery but still does it. please help

So last night when I shut my headlights off after coming home from work I was greeted by that awful noise which notifies you that your headlight gear has stripped...I just tried the "temp fix" on my drivers side light and it seems so have worked great!

To be honest I didn't expect it to work, my T/A has 210,000 miles on it, I was sure someone had done this before, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked just as described! ...about how long does this buy me though?

Apparently.. 210,000 miles lol. Could depend on a lot of things though, especially with that many miles already on your ride. I'd get a spare gear to have around just in case

Default Headlamp Motor

So I used a test light to figure out what was wrong with my passenger headlamp, won't flip up but light will turn on and off. There is no noise what so ever so I'm thinking its a bad motor. My question is should I go to a GM dealer to buy a new motor or has anyone here had any trouble with eBay or an auto part store such as Advance Auto or so? I don't want to buy a motor to have it go out again soon so I'm just wondering. Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance.
