Worked fine before, minus having a stripped gear, now nothing. There is no binding, or anything, everything looks good (wires didn't look corroded but after it didn't work first time around I brushed them off anyway, no effect). WTF... What could have changed literally over night for the motor to strait up not work?
Update. Fixed the issue, I didn't think the wiring harness look all that corroded at all, especially after I cleaned it. Well that was it, I spliced into it and now it works.

Manually raise or lower both headlights so they are the same. Then turn on the headlights, they should be in sync then.

Check the little yellow bumper things, I bet one fell off. Check the arm while you are in there and make sure its tight and the nut holding it on didn't come loose.

Anyone else have this problem? I have the same issue wihere there is 3/8 difference when my driver side light comes up so it looks like a lazy eye.

Default Rebuilding my headlight motors... how much grease?

Should I fill up the inside of the motor with grease? I'm going to use white lithium grease.

if you are replacing the factory stripped plastic gear then no it will be too thin. I think just enough wheel bearing type grease/multi purpose will do the trick. just enough to coat things like when you took it apart.

coat them good, just don't pack the motor. Dude that sells those gears I thought supplied a packet of grease with the epoxy. I had to do the same thing with one of my motors. Otherwise a standard wheel bearing grease coating them is good white lith. will not keep things coated too thin

They did come with grease, but I lost it.

If all else fails, use whatever he is using in his hair.

Just replaced headlight motor gear on both. when I did a little research on how to do this I didnt see anyone say to do this so I thought I would share. Just take the whole light assembly off the hinges and you will have plenty of room to work. do this by taking off the plastic headlight cover in the front with your lights up. then 4 screws hold on the light cover (painted peice). then 2 bolts for the hinge that you will take off later. you will need a torx for the hinge part. take off the support that goes to the motor first. This is easier if you loosen the tension on it by slightly lowering the light. when this is off finally take the light assembly off the hinge. now you should see what i have in the picture. IF you carefully lay the lights up there you dont have to remove those wires. the third screw for the motor is still a PITA but at least you can see it. to take the motor apart you need to get the wiring free from its holder for more room to work with it. take your time and its really easy fix. I went with plastic gears because I am cheap and dont use my headlights much.

Just wanted to let you know that I tried your free fix and it works like a champ. It's only been two days, so I will have to check back in with yas after some time.

I can not thank you enough for sharing your knowledge. It was very detailed and most helpful. That sound was aweful!

Thanks again!

Very strange for both lights not to do anything.

The system is pretty straight forward so I would take a look at the switch itself.

There is a DRM(Daytime Running Light Module) that may be in between the switch and the lights but I'm 90% sure it isn't so I vote your switch is going bad.
