06 GTO vs 2010 camaro SS my buddy just got a 10 camaro ss and he took me for a ride and i really wasnt to impressed. he said he got down on it all the way and i didnt get thrown back in the seat. my GTO has pacesetter headers catback exhaust and its been tuned. and when i get on mine it throws you back. he swears up and down his is faster but im not 2 sure about it judging by what he showed me. just wondering if the new camaro is as much as its cracked up 2 be?

Run him and find out. Might just be smoother and hide the sense of speed better.
Same story with a friends whp E55 AMG, it feels slow as hell on the inside but the speedo just shoots up like none other.

are you kidding me? the camaro interior is kick ***. dont get me wrong i love my gto, but the new camaro insides are so awesome like with blue tooth, satellite radio, and usb hook up, the new camaro is full of creature comforts.

yea the interior of the new camaro is definitely nice. especially at night when the entire interior is lit up in like a light neon blue. very nice!!! but still wondering about its speed. what car do you think will win?

It's got a shifter ball the size of a softball and the gauges are ******* stupid looking. Instead of going for the retor look on the outside they retro inside. The outside is a different story. I love the the look of it. But I drive so I would have to see the interior all day and not the outside.

the camaro in that vid is most likely an auto. They have had a problem with the automatic cars because dealers were putting 87 octane in them causeing them to go into limp mode hence they were turds. The m6 camaro is fast for a big heavy tank. There is a video of a cam only one running 11.20 @ 121 which in my book is very respectful.

I honestly prefer the GTOs interior to the new camaros.
GTO is a european interior whereas the camaros was designed and made in america, cn tell right away.
Do like the outside of the SS far more however.

I really like the looks of the new camaro but you cant go wrong with a GTO, they cost a third as much and you have performance numbers that aren't far off. Thats why I bought one.

Imma put it this way, if there was someway to have the camaro exterior with the GTO interior and for the cmaro to shed some weight....well i would buy that car in a heart beat.

You have a full exhaust and a tune and are about 125lbs lighter. A full exhaust is a major mod when a tune is added. 2010 LS3 camaros are making an extra 40-50 hp from this, ~420 rwhp with full exhaust and tune. (just so you know how you would fair with equal mods
)You have probably 10-20 more horsepower and then add in the 100 lb difference. You got him by about .3 tenths at best. (just a quick rough estimate)
Should get him by about 4 cars in the 1/4 if I had to guess. Of coarse everything would have to be equal. Equal drivers, both same transmission etc. Anything can happen on the street.
Remember your car will feel a little faster if you are by yourself (no passenger, -~200lbs, -~.2 tenths) and also the torque managament that you had tuned out of your car will really soften up the shifts on a new camaro.
Your car and my car would be a good race if you have an M6 and can drive.

if i wanted a "Me Too" car i could sell my GTO and get a SS. each car has its good and bad points. IMO the two cars being compared arent even in the same league to be compared to each other. not that one is better then the other. im saying why not compare it the challanger or something or even the '11 mustang, not cars that have engines from '97 and '05.
