From what I have heard, the GMM race or the new billet shifter are pretty much the best you can get. The new billet one is on back order and there are only a few places in the US that sell them(they just started to ship like a month ago). The GMM has been around for awhile and is pretty decent. Those are they only two I would ever put on my car. I have heard bad things about the rest.

B&M is junk,

my installer said he didn't like the quality,
it did help the shifting, but...
broke it the first day it was installed

now I just have the LSS
eventually, I will buy the GMM or the Billett

I had the B&M in my car for over 11,000 miles. No issues other than the lever bolts loosening once, I fixed that with more locktite. I started to recently miss 3rd gear with it but all it would take to help is more practice shifting faster and I could have just installed the stiffer centering springs! Regardless that shifter is in great condition and will be for sale in the next day or two!

I just recently ordered the new Billet Products shifter, received it yesterday and shall be installing it in the morning... I'll write a review once I get some miles on it!

I have the GMM race also. Much, much, better than stock. The throws are still a bit longish though. That Billet piece looks so damn good.

I have the GMM. It was before they came out with a street version so its the race version. No problems at all with it. If you liked the Pro 5.0, you'd like the GMM. That is what it reminded me of when I first saw it.

Just finished my Billet Pro install. I went against the suggestions of others and put it on the lowest setting... HOLY SHORT SHIFTS!! I may raise it up to the middle setting to see what that is like. But first a few miles as is!

GMM street, no noise or vibrations and very stout and smooth.

Had the B&M, was complete ****, swapped for the GMM and will never look back!

We got a guy on the LS1GTO board who was a tester for Hurst's shifter and he liked the GMM better then the Hurst also...

GMM is the way to go!

I have the GMM race. It's nice, and the longer throws are something i like. It's nice to know it's next to impossible to miss third.

has anyone compared the GMM shifter with the Billet. I'm very interested to hear peoples thoughts comparing the two.

I haven't driven a car with the GMM but I have felt the Street and Race versions while cars were sitting still. The Billet Pro shifts are "tighter" and have shorter throws. The Billet Pro has some stiff springs in it that make for some serious precise shifts. The GMM is really accurate for shifting as well. I think the main difference you'll hear or find between the two will be that the shifter height makes for shorter throws with the Billet Pro. Besides that the remote shifter compared to a "direct base" shifter. I will say with the Billet Pro you feel damn connected to the drivetrain!!

I think if you want really, really short throws the Billet Pro is for you, if you don't mind a little longer throws... then either the Billet Pro, GMM or hell even the B&M would be a great choice!!

You could try the louis short stick. I'll add that any shifter would be better than the stock POS!
