Default New super Vette...blower a good idea?

It seems that the new super Vette will have a blown 6.2 litre. I have always been under the impression that having a blower on a road racing car is bad because of heat loss. Is this true? Can intercoolers really turn a supercharged car into a road racer with any real endurance? Thanks for the answers!!!

Most real race cars that have forced induction use turbo chargers. I'm not sure how the new 'SS' Corvette will do, but a lot of boost can create problems for any car with extended road course use.

If the LS2 makes 400hp and the LS3 makes 430hp... a blower would bring you up into the 500s easy. Hope you can get it to the ground.

Um isnt the new blower supposed to be a roots style blower also. I dont think I have ever seen an intercooler on a roots blower. If you can have one where would you put it or plumb it.

I've seen them before. Its built right into the supercharger, under the impellers.

its more of an aftercooler... it uses fluid that runs to a heat exchanger that you mount in the front of the vehicle. Magnasson has been using this in the Radix blowers for a good while. almost like a smaller version of an air/water intercooler for a centrifugal blower or turbo setup... just mounted under the blower's head unit.

Heat Management is always a concern in turbo/blower cars for road course duty. I've seen Procharged birds give up the ghost after a couple 20min sessions. But I've also seen Cobras with roots type blowers do fine. I wanted to turbo my car initially but given all the extra precautions and money that I needed to take in order to make it reliable I decided to stay NA.
