(Updated pics 9/9/16) *17/15 Weld rts* LOW PAD!-Stock brakes- 01 Firehawk
*PAGE 3 POST 43 FOR UPDATED PICS* 17x5 & 15x10 with 7.5" BS. The low pad definitely added some lip to the rears that wouldn't be there if I would've ordered the medium pad for my stock width rear. The fronts are also low pad, and have plenty of room to spare. Today I've updated with pics of these mounted on my NBM 01' Firehawk. The reason I opted for low pad is because I wanted the fronts to tuck a little more than the medium pad 17's would've allowed since there is more options on backspace in low pad, and to get more of a dish in the rear with the 15" low pads instead of medium. Another benefit is the low pad is supposed to be slightly less weight because of a less curved spoke. This is on a stock length 8.8 rear end, and factory ls1 brakes. No grinding required, but make sure if you have your rears balanced that the put the stick on weights toward the rear side of the dish, not on the wheel spoke end, this way they are behind the caliper. Otherwise the weights can interfere with the caliper. Easy, just inform the person balancing the wheel. (Ignore a couple things I'm doing in the next few days, like changing out the exhaust tips,& having new roof installed cause of factory bubbles)

Fitment looks real good so far, can't wait to see them on the NBM car!
Digging the avatar as well
He is referring to the center piece you are showing being set deeper into the barrel of the wheel. Since the pad height it lower, the center can be set deeper into the barrel without changing the offset relation of the mounting pad to the wheel lip

BMR explained it very well, I just wanted my rear low pad 15's to have more lip than the medium pads could offer. And with the same backspace. Here is a pic of an rts wheel, same width, same back space, just in a medium pad. Notice mine have more lip
My 15's for comparison
And I wanted low pad in the front, because it allowed me to get a 2.9" backspace, which let me tuck the wheels under the fender more. In medium pad 17's, they dont offer a backspace that pulls them in as far. Plus the low pad is a flatter spoke, which I like IMO.

Here's a random internet pic. 9" with 6.5" BS (med. Pad) vs 10" with 6.5" BS (low pad). Looks like WAY more lip than just 1".

On behalf of all future searchers and I, thank you for the pictures. I was searching and searching a few months ago for answers, and decided when the time came I was going to go with the lows for even more lip with my rear narrowed 4" overall. Looks great! Thanks again
