Hey everyone. I'm thinking about selling my 96 SS camaro, so i can buy a 98 plus Trans Am. I was just wondering what those cars are going for these days, so if i put it up on the market, it can be worth my while. I live in Canada and i have yet to see any for sale here, except this guy with a 96 SS wants $28,000!!!! I'll start with some info on the car....
-96 SS
-#41 of 2410
-150,000km's (about 90,000 miles)
-Bright Red (mint exterior)
-Black Leather (extremly clean interior)
-All SLP options, except the upgraded suspension.
-It's 100% original/stock and drives like a bat out of hell!!!
Any figures would be great. The reason im posting this is just to get a good idea of what my car may be worth. Since this is a F-body forum!!! Thanks.

$28K is crazy. It is the first year SS and the only year they were a Z28 SS, not just an SS. Car should turn out to be a colector car, but too early for that. Probably lucky to get $10K for it. Probably closer to $6-8K.

It's hard to predict the market since I'm in the states, but it's really hard to get good money out of an lt1 because the ls1's are starting to get pretty cheap... is it an m6 or a4, t top or hardtop?
A friend of mine bought a loaded black 97 ss m6 new and rarely drove it, it had about 30k on it when he sold it. He had it for sale for over a year at 15k. I think he got 12k for it....

The 96 SS's are sharp and all, but the ls1's are starting to get real cheap here. Sharp 98-99 SS's are going for around 9,000 here in Tennessee, with around 90-100,000 miles. More than likely, you'll probably only get 7-8,000 for the car. Especially since the 98-99's are so cheap. Since you live in canada you might be better off putting it on ebay, so anyone looking for a 96 in the states will find it.

I know Canadian dollar prices are higher than ours, but that's still high even when you do the math.
I'd say your car's worth $500. I'll pm you my cell phone number so we can set up the deal. -Joshua

I would keep it, selling something that nice for so cheap wouldnt be worth it in my book. Il be selling my 2000 Trans Am in a year or so, its got 35k miles on it and If I cant get 17k out of it Im not selling it at all.

F-bodies are becoming real cheap I found a loaded 2002 Z/28 convert 36k on her she sold for $12,600 stock A4, leather, CD, pwr mint. A loaded 02 SS Vert went for 16k 22,235 on her.
I am sorry to say f-bodies are not keeping value even GMMG cars are going for far less then what the sticker was.

If you get that price, you should be wearing a mask & holding a gun.
