Default GP on Clear/Carbon Fiber Air Lids from MTI ...

Spoke with Jayson at MTI a few minutes ago and he's interested in offering the members of LS1Tech a GP on MTI's Clear and Carbon Fiber airlids if the interest level is there.

Just in case you didn't see it, MTI had the quickest and fastest lid when independently tested in the current issue of GM High Tech Magazine so you're getting the best of the best!

If you're interested, just reply to this post and let them know what type of lid you'd be interested in. GP pricing will be posted in the next couple of days and they have both the clear and carbon fiber in stock and ready to ship!

I need a new one. I'd be interested in a carbon fibre.

I'd be interested in a carbon fiber one if the price is right

Not trying to hi-jack this thread or start a flame war, but did they test the new TSP lid in that comparison. I let my 6 month subscription expire and have not been reading GM High Tech since. I know that the lead time on those articles are pretty lengthy, and was just wondering if the TSP was out when the test was done and if it was included. If the MTI lid did in fact out perform the TSP, I would be interested. A group of us have been trying to convince TSP that they need to do a GP. Thanks

The TSP lid was one of the lids tested as were lids from SLP, AMS, and others.

I'll ask Jayson to scan and post the results from the article later today in addition to posting up some pricing.

Yeah the results were a little biased on the amount of $ sponsered in the mag.

SLP was number 1......

Testing was done in a M6

TSP had the highest MPH and worst 60ft

i'd be interested in a clear one. Can you get or do they make one that is smoked, like a tail light cover?

They have a smoke on as well.
Does anyone have any specifics on how many people we are supposed to have? and what the pricing is supposed to be?

Actually- The SLP and TSP dynoed about the same, TSP made .4 of hp more, and SLP made .1 ft lb of torque more the TSP.

TSP had the worst 60' but the 3rd best MPH.

SLP- 2.14 60' went 12.94 @ 110.04
MTI- 2.10 60' went 12.92 @ 110.24
TSP- 2.20 60' went 13.07 @ 110.00

If They all had the equal 2.10 60' as the MTI then SLP would be a 12.90, and TSP would have been a 12.97. These were the 3 best lids according to the mag, but the funny thing about this was that SLP and TSP both made 5 more RWHP than MTI, but MTI trapped faster....lol

I was trying to get in on the TSP GP, but it doesn't seem they would be able to meet the demand any time soon. I be perfectly happy with the MTI smoked or clear lid.

Put me down for a smoked one. If there's no smoke i'll take the carbon fiber.

Thanks for all the interest! MTI doesn't offer a smoked airlid, but does have the clear and carbon fiber in stock.

I'll get the GP pricing from Jayson in the morning and post up so please check back in the thread tomorrow!

Thanks for your interest!
