NOVEMBER $100 Rewards Contest
To reward all of our wonderful members and sponsors of this site, we have come up with a way to help pay some lucky individuals back! The rules are simple:
1. All registered members are eligible, except Administrators. Yes, staff members and sponsors are eligible too.
2. For the month of November, please answer the following:
Share TWO of the most important things you have learned on this site with everyone. Yes, only TWO, otherwise this thread could hit a new record in length. What TWO items would you want everyone here to learn?
3. Winner will be randomly drawn from all the replies in this thread for this month. Winning number is randomly generated using a mathematical software program.
4. All entries can be submitted up thru the last day of November 2004. Winner will be drawn on first day of the following month. Winner's member name will be posted here at the end of the contest, and they must respond via email within 10 calendar days or we will redraw a new winner.
Winner will receive:
Registered Member of 3 months or longer = $100.00 gift certificate to LS1TECH Sponsor of winner's choice.
-OR-
Registered Member of less than 3 months = $50.00 gift certificate to LS1TECH Sponsor of winner's choice.

1) aluminum LS1's with FI can go damn fast
2) Spending alot of money doesn't make you fast!Knowing what you are doing does with the help of LS1TECH does (but still coast a @$$ load)
I think Harlan showed these points well. I know over a dozen people that said "that car will never be that fast" and then " No f**king way 8.2@167.7, well that is all it has in it. Call it done" Time will tell!

1. Dyno/peak numbers dont mean jack. Take it to the track. The dyno is just a tuning tool.
2. Peak head flow numbers dont mean ****. Mid lift numbers and lift area under the curve is where its at

1 : I've learned a lot about engine internals, and specific routines for assembling short blocks like how arp studs should be used.
2 : Done a lot of supercharger and turbo research, to the point where I am now creating my own twin turbo setup, I would not have done this without such a wealth of information.

What I learned from this site:
1. You do not need a huge horsepower to run great track numbers.
2. BIG Converters are not that bad on the street.
What people can learn from this site:
1. How to build an LS platform engine to be a great daily driver to an insane track only, record breaking car
2. Innovation to adapting old and new concepts to make these cars run and look better.

I think I could post 2 things I've learned for every day I've been here
1. That the greese method to remove a pilot bearing is a BAD thing on an LS1 car because of the hollow crank. Just go rent a puller.
2. Stock manifolds suck. I've loved the headers and would have probably gotten more expensive ones if I wouldn't have heard how nice the pacesetters are from here.
Things I'd want everyone else to know:
1. Some LS motor's are freaks...accept this and when your car with more mods gets beat by one with just a catback and gears, it's ok (I hate you Kenny)
2. Don't just buy a part to have it, or because it cost the most. Find out what others have be able to do with a certain part and run with it.

1. LS1 tech really has the best tech, the other sites are just chat rooms.
2. Right now PCM tuning information is my main objective & mastering HP Tuners, this place has at least as much good HP Tuners info as the HP Tuners board.
