TCI Torque Converter GP for LS1 and LT1 F-bodies, C5's, and Trucks!
It looks like we have some great interest in a TCI torque converter GP, so I have put together some pricing. This pricing will be good through Friday, January 24th. FYI, we also offer torque converters for the new Mustang GT's, so let your friends know.
LS1 F-body and 99+ 1/2-ton Trucks with 4L60E
*TCI Street Fighter: 3,000 RPM stall, 2.2:1 stall torque ratio
GP Price: $420.99
*TCI Super Street Fighter: 3,500 RPM stall, 2.5:1 stall torque ratio
GP Price: $463.99
*TCI Competition: 4,400 RPM stall, 2.85:1 stall torque ratio
GP Price: $615.99
C5 Corvette and LT1 F-body
*Street Fighter: 3,000 RPM stall, 2.2:1 stall torque ratio
GP Price: $415.99
*Super Street Fighter: 3,500 RPM stall, 2.5:1 stall torque ratio
GP Price: $415.99
Auxiliary Transmission Coolers
PermaCool 16,000-18,000 GVW cooler: $39.99
PermaCool 20,000-22,000 GVW cooler: $44.99
*no GP minimum required to get pricing on the transmission coolers
I always recommend installing an auxiliary transmission cooler inline with the factory cooler when going with a higher stall torque converter. Heat will kill a transmission, so it is just cheap insurance in my opinion. I recommend the 16-18,000 GVW cooler if you're getting a converter under 3,500 RPM stall. If you are going with a 3,500 RPM stall or larger, then I recommend the 20-22,000 GVW cooler.
All converters are 245mm, which is approximately 9.5" in diameter. The converters have a carbon fiber torque converter clutch, and they are built with impeller (pump) side anti-ballooning plates. We will even include custom-built converters at these prices. So, if you would like a 3,800 or 4,000 stall with a different stall torque ratio, just shoot me an e-mail.
I am sure many of you are aware of Colonel's results with the Super Street Fighter in his '02 Z28. He was cutting low 1.6 60' times, and the car has run an 11.83 @ 113 MPH with stock internals! I also know of a car in Alabama that is currently running the TCI Competition converter. It was at the Thunder Shootout on November 2nd, 2002, and it cut a best 60' that day of 1.53 with stock-internals and a raceweight over 3,500 lbs. FYI, my best that day at the same track was a 1.529 with my PT4400, and I have a camshaft. Needless to say, these converters hit hard and offer EXCELLENT performance for a fantastic price. I will be trying a Super Street Fighter once my TNT kit and stage II heads are installed.
For the GP to work, we will need a minimum of five orders. You can e-mail me with your name, vehicle information, and daytime phone number, and I will put you down on the list. Once we have our minimum number of five orders, then I will contact everyone on the list for billing and shipping information. FYI, the converters will ship directly from TCI to you. We will place the order as soon as we have five orders. We will not wait to place the order on January 24th. All orders placed after the minimum of five have been met will be ordered as soon as payment is received. We accept all major credit cards.
Thanks!

What is the difference between the Super Street fighter and the Compitition series? As far as the custom stall pricing, if I wanted a Compitition series with a 4000 stall and a 2.5 STR, I could get it for the $615.99? Thanks.
Oh and by the way, friends don`t let friends drive Mustangs.

Trevor,
Do you sell any for LT1s? If I recall correctly, I think the C5 TCs fit LT1s, but I'm not sure. If that's not the case, can you give me the price for an LT1 TC?
Also, what would be better for a daily-driven, track sometimes, 3.23 geared, minimal mod LT1? I'm thinking the 3k street fighter but I'd appreciate any advice you have. If 3,000 stall is too low, can they do a 3,200 or something?

00REDZ28 - You would be looking at $20 shipping.
Lesrace82 - Shipping will be $22 to you.
02SilverZ - The main difference between the Super Street Fighter and Competition converters is the impeller. I could get you a 4,000 stall 2.5:1 STR Super Street Fighter for $463.99.
Gearhead - The price for LT1 converters will be the same as the C5's: $415.99. As for RPM stall, what will work for you totally depends on what you're willing to put up with. I know of quite a few LT1 guys that are running stalls in the 3,000-3,200 range. I usually like a little more stall than others, so I would be inclined to go with the 3,500 stall. If you wanted to get a 3,200 stall, it would not be a problem.
Nick's WS6 - If you read this, send me a PM. I tried responding to your e-mail, but it said that the server did not recognize the e-mail address. I don't want you to think I'm ignoring you!

Would you recommend bringing the SF3000 UP to a 3200 stall or bringing the SSF3500 DOWN to 3200? Which one would be tighter in around town driving? Also, do you have an idea as to what the WOT shift extensions would be? And can you tell me how much shipping is to zip 89074? TIA

What will the shift extension on the TCI Competition: 4,400 RPM stall, 2.85:1 stall torque ratio be? Mods in sig.
Is it comparable to the pt4400?
