Default Completely Demolished a Hatchback Civic

So i'm talking with friends on facebook and this asian ricer with a civic hatchback starts posting up stuff about vtec and how V8's are for *********, etc. So i said vtec is for pussies and he called me out on it, asking to race. I offered to go to the track, of course he refused, so i agreed to only a midnight or later dig on the 30 bypass with perfect weather.
He said he has a b16 motor swap, cold air intake, and full exhaust. So the following two days i talked to a few of my tuner friends from UTI and such, and they said i'm in deep **** because b16's run mid 13's from a dig, and from a roll i'd get my *** handed to me. So needless to say i get a little upset because i don't want to possibly lose to a damn honda civic hatchback. The kid then wants to put money down on it, and i refuse because i don't want to look even more like an idiot if i lose. STUPID decision.
So the day comes along to race. Beautiful weather, midnight, no traffic, etc. Him and his friends show up at the wawa on 113 to meet me and my friends before the race. I take a look at the civic and to my alarm it is COMPLETELY gutted. The kid doesn't even have a horn! So i'm thinking...**** this is not going to go well at all. But nevertheless we head out onto the bypass, find a nice straight, and drop it down to about 30-40. My friend in his v6 Rustang behind us beeps three times and we floor it........It was a waste of my f***ing gas. I put 6 cars on him in no time, and by 100 he was so far back it just shut it down. We did the 30-40 roll three more times with the same result. I couldn't believe i was such an idiot to have not put down any money on it. We get back to the wawa and he says his linkage is messed up and he couldn't shift the gears right. WHATEVER. Even so, still kicked his *** in the gear he started in. What a joke haha

His Car: Honda Civic Hatchback, Completely Gutted, B16 Motor Swap, Cold Air Intake, Full Exhaust.

My Car: 98 Z28 Camaro, 137k miles, 6-speed, Whisper Lid, Smooth Bellows, 85mm MAF, Koni Single Adjustable Front Shocks, Bilstein Rear Shocks, Thicker Front and Rear Sway Bars, B&M Short Shifter, Centerforce Stage 2 Clutch, Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel, Loud Mouth 1 Cat-Back, and shitty/old Firehawk Wide-Oval Street Tires.

You should never be concerned about an NA B16.
I've never seen an NA B16 dip into the 13's.

Awesome slaughter!! And yea you'd have to have like a 1500 lbs car to do mid 13's with a B16. They are great for turbos though.

This reminds me of a race....A freind of mine that knew a kid with a B16 swapped honda told me the kid was talking all kinds of **** about me and my other buddy and our TA's (at the time I had a 2000 Firehawk M6). I called him out and he met me on a quiet backroad. I was a little nervous because I knew nothing about swapped hondas then and figured it could be fast. We went from a dig and I instantly put about a bus on him through first into second. He slammed on his brakes half way through the race, blew a U turn, and went back and picked up a buddy he came with. I turned around and went back and asked what the hell happened, and my freind just told me the kid said "it wasn't even a race," and then took off. Baaaah haha.

Time to find a new tuner when they tell you that your modded LS1 will lose to a N/A B16.

+1. They warn you that this modded shitbox can hit mid 13's but apparently they forgot some LS1's have dipped into the 12's in stock form, which your car isn't stock anymore. Facepalm

Good kill OP, and expected. But I will say that a bolt-on B16 in a gutted Civic hatch (depending on the year of the hatch) can most certainly run mid 13s. A gutted hatch is gonna weigh ~2,000lbs, so a motor with ~150-160hp at the wheels is gonna do just fine. Won't be "fast," but certainly won't be "slow" either. But he should not have thought that he could take a well-driven LS1.

Along time ago same **** happen to me. I work with a guy that had a b16 swap in his civic. 90% of the workers said he would beat me. It's a b16 it's f**king fast. I told them no N/A 4 banger can beat me. at that time I had 350whp 360trq, i distroyed his *** by busses. I race him in the my v6 bird still beat him by 2 cars.

If its boosted its a different story...

I am going to be running 10psi on a ebay GT35 turbo with a 1.8L (LS integra bottom end) with vtec (GSR head)

should be at 300whp with ease..

stock power its 140hp for an LS motor, 160hp for a B16 motor ... so basically going from 160hp to ~330hp to the crank... thats a nasty gain if u ask me.

Oh and they weigh about 1000lbs less lol (Example, my car stock form weighs 2600lbs and will about 300-325whp)

If you wanted a quick car for $4000, you should have bought a foxbody.
You'd make more power with that e-bay turbo on a fox and wouldn't spin until 60mph.

Could have been like this if it had been built properly. We have a few mid-low 11sec all-motor hondas out here in so-cal, FYI.
