with more practice id predict a 10.9 at 130 mph on his 680 awhp pump gas setting..

race gas and maybe 10.5 at 135 at his 760 awhp setting

Just needs practice..

ive got a few mods being done and Im hopeing to touch 11.3 at 126 mph off a 1.9 60 foot...Of course on a non prepped surface and with street tires both our 11.6's were really impressive...1000 feet elevation as well

ORIGINAL MSRP
2003 Viper Vert MSRP $79,995 vs. 2003 C5Z06 MSRP $51,435
2006 Viper Vert MSRP $81,895 vs. 2006 C6Z06 MSRP $64,890
2008 Viper Vert MSRP $85,545 vs. 2008 C6Z06 MSRP $71,275
2010 Viper Vert MSRP $90,255 vs. 2010 C6Z06 MSRP $74,285

Golly gee, I'd hope the car I spent $28,560 more, $17,005 more, $14,270 more, and $15,970 more, respectively, from the factory would have a better interior, outperform, ride better, handle better, and brake better than the other cheaper car magazines pitted me against

actually your forgetting about the mandatory gas guzzlers tax on all vipers of 3K...So a 2003 was actually 83K..Ive got the origional window sticker..

Your paying for a limited production V10 bottom of the barrel exotic vs a very awesome vette thats somewhat limited...

Their were more C6Z06's made in 2006 than srt10 verts ever made period from 03-10

Thats what your paying for....

Your be surprised what people with money pay for and want. I saw that someone just paid 66K for a watch that sold for 10$ back in the 60's...But it's one of the few afiliated with the James Bond movie..

Likewise the 60K I dropped on my Viper back in 2006 I could have gotten a 2004 C5z06 with every mod imaginable...But I wanted somthing rare that not everyone else had...

The viper fits that bill for me. The Z06 despite being an awesome car just dosent. Id hate to have to explain to people how its not just a 47K vette..And its a 70K 427 ci with a dry sump ect...

With the Viper people always think it's 100K...150K...ect...People are really surprised when I tell them new it's under 6 figures...Just a total differant ownership experiance..

If you have never owned a quasi exotic car then I suggest you do before you die...Viper and nsx's are 50/50..To some people they are their with ferraris and Lambos and to some people they are just a slight step above vettes..

But for the many people that do you are makeing their dream come true when you roll up in a nsx/gtr/viper/porsheTT...Even the old ones that you can easily aquire for in the 20's from the early 90's still get peoples blood flowing...They take pics and ask to sit inside and call their friends or make videos ect..

Z06 is an amazeing machine..but until youve experianced ownership of a somewhat exotic car...I cant really explain the joy you get seeing pother people smile ect.

Someone said they see vipers everyday...Ive seen maybe 10 in my life counting the 3 Ive owned..Wish I lived where you live..

Here in hawaii I really do see a nsx a month or so..And they are VERY rare cars at only 10K produced in the US in the past 20 years...So depends on were you live

Our one and only drag strip closed down 5 years ago..I was their 2-3 times per week all year long for about 5 years. made THOUSANDS of passes..But my C5 was just a slow 2.73 geared auto with 380 rwhp from Z06 heads and a 224/224 cam..Only ran 12.8's at 111 mph..

FEARSM really ran 10.6 at 124 in his 600 rwhp plus supra

RSKY ran 12's in his 700 rwhp supra..I think 12.7 at 117 mph or so?????But it got much faster with better tuneing and all and i think he shipped the car to a track on another island and almost ran 11's..

Those supras must be hard to drag race

Wallahn..It's misleading..look again

http://www.motortrend.com/features/s...12_0306_spdint
2003 Motor trend speeding shoot out.
.03 SRT10 vert=11.7 at 123
VS 2003 Z06=12.4 at 116

who cares thats the old Z06 but the 11.7 at 123 was impressive for 2003

dayum what a smoking

http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...s/4217681.html
2007 popular mechanics
SRT10 coupe=12.1 at 121.2 mph=lap=1.15.59
VS C6Z06=12.0 at 120.9 mph =lap=1.15.74
viper 1 vette zero
looks like the 1/4 mile was very close with the SRT10 trapping a lil higher and being a little faster on the road course

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...s_pricing.html
2007 MotorTrend
SRT10 coupe=12.1 at 120.9 mph=Lap=24.4
VS C6Z06=11.7 at 125.2 mph=Lap=24.8
viper 2 vette zero

Looks like the C6Z06 dominated at the strip but again the Viper was a lil quicker around they're course

http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...2&Profile=1008
Autoweek
SRT10 coupe=12.3 at 117 mph=Lap=46.8 mph
VS C6Z06=12.0 at 121 mph=Lap=45.6 mph
viper 3 vette zero...higher mph means faster

Again the C6Z06 beats the SRT10 handily at the strip but is a lil slower through the slalom

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...7/pageId=67637
Edmonds american exotics
SRT10 coupe=12.6 at 117 mph =Lap=133.30
VS C6Z06=12.0 at 123 mph=Lap=133.04
viper 3 vette 1

Man the C6Z06 just dusted the viper at the strip this time..But look at those track times. Pretty darn close considering the 1/4 mile mph differance.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/d...owersTrack.pdf
SRT10 coupe=12.3 at 116 mph =Lap=119.5
VS C6Z06=12.2 at 118 mph=Lap=119.5
tie so still viper 3 vette 1

This time The C6Z06 barely edges out the SRT10 vert in the quarter mile with a 12.2 at 118 VS the Vipers 12.3 at 116 mph...But on the road course they both pull 1.19.5 second lap times..The review then says that they preferred lapping the SRT10 vert over the C6Z06 due to it track mannerisms

http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...per/stats.html
Automobile
SRT10 coupe =12.4 at xxx mph=lap=1.33.95
VS C6Z06=12.0 at xxx mph=Lap=132.75
viper 3 vette 2

Finally the c6Z06 beats the SRT10 by 1.2 seconds around a road course...So out of the "HEAD2HEAD"reviews I could find..Viper3...Vette2...and 1

they are both beraste but again the viper brought this to the table back in 2003

Granted the last Viper I happened to be in was a first gen but I was disappointed with the performance for the price tag. Now for a street legal race car I would say the new ZR1 fits that description more so than an equivalent Viper IMO. And if you want something with some creature comfort and don't mind going in debt get a Lexus LFA.

now the GTR is at a differant level. A 2006 Viper or a 2010 Z06 aint touching it on a road course. But stock for stock they both trapp higher in the 1/4 mile meaning they are faster..BUT the GTR hooks better and can consistently get the better ET..

average for GTR =11.6 at 118
average for Z06 =11.7 at 125
average for srt10=12.0 at 121

in short you want to beat a GTR on a road course you better have a ZR1 or 2008 Viper..But acelleration wise 118 mph trapps is no biggie..

wallahn..Ill get the specs for the 06Z06 vs 06 Viper for ya....
Alot of these reports about which car is faster around a roadcourse are garbage because vettes come with run-flat tires, which are garbage!!! GTR comes with nicer tires. If you put all cars on a sticky tire, I would say both the vette and viper would outperform the gtr on the track. The gtr has the advantage with street tires and AWD. Put race tires on, and I bet the zo6 wins no contest.

The GTR is significatnly heavier...

Lexus engineers have claimed sub 7:20 ring times, but a pro driver got 7:38, which is also the exact same time he got with both the 458 Italia and the ZR-1.

The Italia is sexier IMO, much faster in a straight line, just as fast around a road course, half the price, and o yeah, it's a Ferrari. Why anyone would buy the Lexus is beyond me, i personally don't see the value in it at all. Hype > HP IMO.

Crashemall, give it up. We know you hump Vipers to no end. Your argument is weak, comparing magazines like they are the end all of performance comparisons.

LOL..you beat me at 15 psi...15 PSI! It was a gentleman's bet where you made sure I kept my boost down but you LIED about your setup. You werent setup the same from the frist race we were trying to recreate. When I turned it up to 18 you lost. Next tme we run it will be on 26 psi, my daily driven setting. Plus I wont have 12 bent exhaust valves from when my timing belt broke. For the last time, not only arent you an expert or even REMOTELY knowledgable on forced induction, you have NO CLUE about my setup. I was running too much boost for pump gas but only because my methanol wasnt spraying due to the solenoid going bad. I knew that but took the risk anyway. My SLOWEST 10 sec 1/4 time slip is faster that your Gtech clone times and over 10 mph faster and thats when I was making only 590rwhp. So next time we race I WILL NOT HANDICAP MY CAR TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE. LOL, we will see what your car is capable of then. LOL, hell I think Im gonna spray you as well for the hell of it.
