I've went round and round about swapping to E85. We don't have it locally, except in pails at the local speed shop ($7 a gallon). The closest station with it is over a hour away from me in a remote rural area that I wouldn't bank on them carrying long.
If/when we get it more closer, more accessible I will make the switch.

No, I'm looking at stepping up to a set of 240 Street Heats. I currently have a OLD set of 225 KPI/Street Heats.

Buy a drum at a time? I dunno if you would use it fast enough tho.

E85 stays good for a year long as sealed right. And screw paying 7 a gallon for it. Buy a drum and save money.

As far as e85, a local tuner said just the switch is worth 3 ish %, plus I'm pretty aggressive on compression. Also, I've seen a few dynod were n/a have picked up 25rwhp a gross the board just from more aggressive timing.
I dunno about your particular setup but for turbo cars e85 is great stuff as we can run alot more timing and boost than we could safely on 93octane. With your setup running e85 with high compression would just give you a higher ceiling for safety and if you can run a fair amount of more timing then you would probably reap a bit more than just that small 3% gain. Guys on stock motors with normal compression would see that small amount of change and there isn't as much of an issue with normal compression ratios on pump gas as you would encounter with high compression on pump gas. Just a thought. Look into high compression motors like yours to see what others have gained with e85. Turbo guys it's a no brainer.

Will do, I need to do more research on the gains. Obviously yes it's a no brainier for boosted .

As far as $7 a gallon wtf! The ONLY pump here in town is $2.25 lol

Whats needed to change over to e85 on an ls like mine? 02 z28, stock fuel system save for an aeromotive 340lph and fast 36lb injectors?

Curious...

Depending on your ECM, you can always turn your car into flex fuel compatible.

Why would you waste money doing it on a stock car? Do bolt ons, cam etc then do e85. The gains will not be worth for stock. You need the injectors, boost a pump atleast on stock car.

But e85 alone didn't net his gains. That's how bad information is spread ....

I've always thought that it was implied the car was retuned anytime someone says they gained xxx hp from switching to e85/110/116 etc.
