Went to the rod run yesterday, saw more cars than I could count, most of which were immaculate but ran across one car I honestly never thought I'd see in person. Especially where I live

If you leave the heads stock on an lt1 you are I for disappointment... I agree Marc , a well setup LT1 should not dissapoint at all.

Keep in mind most "stage 2" ported LT1 heads flow what a bone stock LS head flows, and even at same CFM they are less efficient...so there really is NO REASON to keep the heads stock on any LT1 build that you care about performance. They are ****!

306 is a terrible cam for stock heads. Peaks past the safe point for a stock shortblock, choked by the stock heads, and most tuners set redline for stock shortblock cars to 6k so it makes no power and runs slow at the track. Bet if you look back on the dyno it only spun to ~5900.
Thread for xxsaint69x results... 12.7 @ 115 on stock heads.
