Default I want to kill a '04 cobra for xmas

(first off i hope im in the right forum) My cousin has a stock 04 cobra whose licence plate reads something like chevy eater. i havent seen him yet and hes waiting to blow the doors off me when i do. I have a '01 ss m6, i just ordered some parts monday.they include a spec stage 2 clutch, slp 3.73s, pro 5.0 with mba ****, bmr phb sfc lca, and jet hot 1.75 lt headers goin through a full 3 inch flowmaster exhaust. freemod ramair and k&n. everything else is stock. these parts should be going in by next week. my car is a daily driver and have been advised to go with the tr224 cam. im thinkin about goin with the patriot stage 2 heads also. What do u guys suggest so i can give that snake a root canal?

get the heads first. with just exhaust, you dont stand much of a hope if he can drive.

A whole lot of nitrous. You're going to need it with that baby cam if he's modded.

It sucks that you are in CA. I would strongly recommend getting a bigger cam than the 224 but with the emission laws you really can't. I had a 224 cam and I could've kicked myself later. I wish I would've gotten at least a 230+ cam. With the mods that you are talking about you might be able to hang with him if he is stock. If he has anything done you probably don't have a chance. You need the cam and heads to help you out. Good luck and hope that he is stock and/or can't drive.

a good set up on the tr224 will hand him his *** if you know how to drive your car. i will post a video of me with my "baby" cam edging out a 460rwhp 04 cobra. in my experience, sticky m/t drag radials, weld draglites, some weight reductions and a cam should be enough to "hang" and perhaps edge out a modded cobra. 30mph roll with stock 342s and i am at my sweet spot. however, row those gears as quick as you can because if he reels you in then it is over. ill post this race soon.

You're races against Cobras should have an asterisk by them. It seems that you always find the worst of the bunch.

460rwhp is good for low 11's with a good driver, mid 11's with a decent driver, and high 11's with a shitty driver...all ranging from 118-123mph or so.

A good setup with a TR224 can put you in that range.

depends on what h/c combo you are talking about because i am damn sure that a 420rwhp ls1 can put up a fight with a 460rwhp cobra. there is no question about that.

Definitely, depending on the weight of each vehicle. Some loaded WS6's are as heavy as my Cobra (3,600lbs).

i think once again we are talking about track numbers. this is street racing, not drag racing. it is funny though because i have actually raced two different cobras to see if it was me that i just got lucky and it was the same identical outcome. i am a big believer that rwhp dont mean **** if you cant put it to the ground and drive your car.

right now my car weighs just under 3400lbs with me in it. compare it to the 3600lbs plus 200 lbs driver on a cobra and we are talking 400lb difference.
thats alot of weight if you ask me

If you ever come near NC let me know and we can line them up. I'd be interested to see how good your car/driving is.

Well i have a 2001 Camaro SS. Bone stock i have never lost to a stock 03/04 cobra. I have raced at least a dozen of them. I had one race with my buddy's 03 cobra he had a k&N FIPK filter kit and we were dead nuts even the whole way. When i had just the 125 shot a was beating them with chip/pulley/exaust. They were making 470ish RWHP. I was probably only around 420RWHP.

My Z28 weighed 3400lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas and it had almost no options.
How did you weigh your car?

400lbs is a big difference, but power is extremely easy to make in a Cobra...unlike an LS1.

well like i said, no sway bar, no back seats, no power steering..etc..etc..prostars,. little things that i dont mention so now you probably have more of an insight as far as why my car runs that strong.

That makes sense, but I don't consider mid 12's at 113mph strong.

I don't exactly call that a daily driver. I mean, the cobra could take out his back seat etc.

These are nearly identical weight vehicles.

I should hope so with a supercharger under the hood.
