Machs are not 6 speeds

LOL@ Action jack. You tried. The main reason the Mustang has outsold the F-Body is women tend to buy the V6 model.

I enjoy racing LS1 and LT1 cars because you never know what to expect. The car could be bone stock or a heavily modded track *****. I personally love both cars and what they bring to the table. If it's the Mach 1's high end torque and a 6800 redline that will pop an unsuspecting passengers neck at any given moment or the LS1's ability to reach 150 mph in what seems like seconds....I'd take both over the competition anyday!

I have always been a GM fan and honestly the Mach is the first Mustang I've even driven (2nd Ford out of 15-16 vehicles). I have to give credit where credit is due. Ford could've threw some stickers on the hood and called it a Mach without really putting much thought into the car but for once they got it right.

Magazine racing or "who will win" racing should not be allowed because of the amount of variables involved in a race. It takes 15 replies just to gather enough information to make an educated guess, not to mention the unecessary comments that are used by immature idiots.

GO RACE AND FIND OUT WHO WILL WIN!!!! And for once I'd like for someone to return with a story that includes the results from the race that I've been following for 5 pages.

Well I'll be back with results from my race, but the race is going down at the track and won't happen until August 19th. I already posted it but his mods are Bassani headers, x-pipe, & catback, ported TB & intake, cold air, custom computer tune, and some suspension work.

With those mods, if traction permits, he should be deep into the 12's for the 1/4 mile.

Funny, last I checked this was LS1tech.com .... not Mach1tech.com?

I'm sure if some LS1 guys went to the ford forums and acted like rejects, the ford guys would all act like ******** as well?

P.S. there are a bunch of cool ford guys here, and you all know who you are.

From what I have been reading and what I guess our Mach 1 friends want us to believe is that stock Mach 1s are 12 second cars out of the box and Joe Average can drive it in the 1/4 at 12.8 to 12.9 with no problem.

For me, I am still waiting for a Mach 1 in my area that has someone that will race and is not a chick or a 'girlie' boy that will not race.

Poor timing I think.

FWIW if it was not for Mustangs we probably wouldn't have as many hot chicks that are into cars...

Well a friend of my tenants has a supposedly bone stock 03' mach1. He claims they have killed vette's and S/C Gt's on the street with it. I told him that I would race him. Nothing is scheduled but he said the next time he comes by if I am around we could run em. I should be able to kill him as long as I don't sit and spin. The only things against me is weight, my torque arm is broken and my car has never been tuned.

I hate to admit it but I like this website more than the mustang sites. The kill section is always quality and better people.

I am a die hard Ford fan and like you guys I had no respect for the Mach 1 till I got one. I think the car is great for the price and that it runs really well bone stock. I had a 97 Cobra before this and the TQ difference alone is great.

Yeah mach's are cool. Stock, they are within a hair of the LS1's performance, making racing one a nervous situation. I would have bought one, but it would have cost me 3 times what I payed for my T/A. I like them, but I just couldn't justify it. By the time I put the 16 grand that I saved by not buying the mach, I will be MUCH faster. I've got heads and cam now and am still FAR under that limit.

Mach 1s are pretty cool... that is a shaker hood, right?

Yeah, I like the Mach 1...

Still like the Trans Am a ton more.

Yeah, me too... What Ford really needs to do is make an engine with more cubes.

Yeah... I remember tearing up a 5.0 GT and it was fun as hell.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, enough talking to myself.

The Mach 1 is a pretty cool car and all but it is Not a WS6 killer. It would be a fun run though.

Well then you really need to get out more. Bone stock, just as it came from the dealership, with a full tank of gas and my 230+ pounds in the drivers seat.
