Cobalt SS?
Has anyone run the Chevy Skittle? I test drove one and it didn't really feel that quick, but haven't heard if anyone has raced one yet. The salesman kept asking me if I was going to take it home, I told him if he could make the Eco Tec sound like my LS1. I asked if he wanted to go for a ride, he said no.

Motor Trend compared this to the Dodge Neon and they were really close in all aspects. I believe it ran a low 14 and it was the fastest car through the slolam that MT had tested in the last three years, including the Z51 C6. Look it up, no joke. Pretty impressive overall. MT chose it over the Neon as the better bargain.

From a 45mph roll no contest whatsoever, by the timt I shut it down @110 he was faaaaaaaaar behind me
I gave him a chance from a stop, left like normal, then hammered it, he was about 2-2 1/2 lengths behind, by the time my turn off came. Considering it's a 4 cyl (albeit FI), it didn't do as bad as I had thought it would've, FWIW it'd be ok as a DD if I wanted a FWD econo box
BTW this was a brand new Cobalt SS being driven by 2 of the salesman from the dealership it'd been delivered to

I "heard" GM will have a turbo that cobalt owners will be able to purchase. I imagine it will take a lot to make it go fast but I think GM's whole plan behind it was to have a car contest to the SRT-4 and the rice rockets. My 2 cents...

it would be a bit faster if chevy took away the big, gay and heavy 18 inch wheels. its slower than the srt4 runs and mid 14s...but with 17 or 16 inch wheels(or with slicks and the type of pwerband it has would be quick)...that are a lot lighter..i'm sure it will be a bit quicker....and chevy has jsut released staged upgrades for it too.

Supercharged 2.0L 205 fwhp. A good driver can run low 14s. Now that the colder weather is coming. I've seen Saturn Ion Redline Competion Pkg. slips for high 13s. Thats only lightly modded too. Intake, 3in. Pulley, Torque Brace, and the Quaife Limited Slip that it comes with.
